Why would they take that deal when they could get a big chunk of Tesla/SpaceX?

I don't know is the honest answer. I did see that Rob Smith of the financial times retweeeted that message so it might have a degree of substance. I doubt if Musks ego could stand the humiliation it would bring tbh even if true.

Yeah, I'm kind of lost on it all as well. All I know is it's a bin fire, not 4d chess.

It will certainly be a good year for him to divest some assets into cash, I don't think for a second that is the plan and it will cost him further assets in the long run. But he'll probably make that back by getting his worshippers to buy into a new crypto scheme before tanking it.

It's a risk for somebody who see's himself as some real life Tony Stark-esque figure to do something so public and prove he's a fucking idiot.

His popularity is in the red pill/blue pill 20 to 40 year olds who love crypto and see everything in terms of Sigma/Alpha/Beta. Yet here he is exposing himself as a 'snow flake' nerd with zero social skills play acting at being what they think he is.

Remembrance has turned into what the Yanks would call a "holiday", like Christmas or Halloween. It's bizarre. It starts earlier each year, people like to outdo others with the size of their poppies or poppy arrangements, and companies are thinking of how to cash in on it.
