Monday Jul 15: The inquest into England’s failure begins. As you’d expect, the Athletic - bless them - have done the whole deep dive “inside England’s Euros disappointment” thing and much of their focus is on Bellingham being unpopular with the rest of the squad. It’s all pretty tenuous “sources say” “some players believe” etc but honestly I reckon it’s probably even worse than they’re reporting. Bellingham gives off that Ronaldo stink even though he hasn’t achieved anywhere near as much as Ronaldo achieved. Ronaldo earned the right to be a bellend. Of course you can choose not to be one, as Messi has for the most part, but the point is when you’ve…

Thought I'd start a thread on this as a few of you have asked about it. Basically, anyone who has an active subscription should not be seeing any ads at all on the site (other than in house ones for t-shirts etc). Subscribers are ad free, so if you are seeing them it's because of the theme you have selected. Go to the bottom of the page and select TLW Subscribers theme. When that's selected you shouldn't be getting any ads showing. If your sub runs out you'll start seeing them and they won't automatically go when you renew, you'll need to scroll down and re-select the TLW Subscribers theme again. Any problems, either post in here or sen…

I couldn’t find the thread on him so feel free to merge. What’s peoples thoughts on him? There’s quite a few who were right pissed off when he come off yesterday but I was wanting him off. Been arguing with a mate today who said he was by far our best Mid, have to disagree, is it because he had a couple of shots? Because the rest of his game is soooooo slow, like he plays in slow motion. He’s got good feet, but just plays it far too simple and safe, he was supposed to be the most advanced of the Midfielders yesterday but he just doesn’t give us enough, he’s slow as fuck, he never breaks into anything faster than a slow jog. Reminds me of Redknapp in that respect, just tro…

With discontented murmurs starting before a ball has been kicked in a competitive game, when will you start throwing your toys out of the pram? January for me.

They bought our club on the cheap knowing fuck all about football, appointed an incompetent amateur to run the club's operations while remaining detached and disinterested thousands of miles away, haven't invested any of their own money into the playing squad, have made no progress with the stadium, hung our manager, players and fans out to dry after they were fucked over by a corrupt FA and then set upon by a shithouse media, and then forced them into a humiliating and unnecessary grovelling apology to our most hated rival who orchestrated the whole fucking thing, all to protect their corporate image. Now, to cap it all off, they sack a club legend and proven winner …

The Red Bull sponsor aside, I like the new Leeds away kit, which is an updated version of the one they wore in the early ‘70s.

On our topfan.co.uk research platform at Staffordshire University we've just started another research project looking at the perspectives of fans on the recent scandals involving racism in football. The questionnaire has just gone live at RACISM AND FOOTBALL IN THE 21st CENTURY and as you know is very current with incidents both on and off the pitch. Are the players to blame for the recent upsurge or has it never really been eradicated from the British game? You might think football has no problem. Have your say in our two-minute survey.

So, what do we reckon? I’ll give it two years maximum. He’ll get the first couple of transfer windows free because they’ll want to look like they’re invested in the ‘project’ but the majority of them will still want instant results. Thankfully these days instant results for them would be sneaking into the top 4. What a time to be alive.

It’s that time of year again. All the international shite is out of the way and we’re looking towards the new season. Let this thread be used to talk about other team’s failures as Arne Slot leads us to the league title.

Examples of the utter shitness of modern football are innumerable. The most recent example is the "Ronaldo v Messi" friendly at old shitford last night, where thousands of willing imbeciles queued up to be gleefully fleeced of fifty quid to watch a pointless friendly, marketed as a footballing masterclass, but in reality was a kick-about by 22 millionaires, the two richest of whom were subbed at half time much to the collective disappointment and outrage of said imbeciles. Fuck off.

My sister dug this out when going through some old stuff, it’s a Christmas card from 1983 but I can’t figure two of the autographs (circled in red). Any ideas?

Good article in today's Independent about Bob by Ian Herbert, maybe with Ferguson gone hopefully a few more journalists will start to educate the sky generation on what a great manager/person Bob was and that you didn't have to cheat and bully to sometimes achieve results. And that you could lose with good grace no matter how much it hurt. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/remembering-the-remarkable-bob-paisley-nice-guy-and-winner-8933648.html

Rumours have it that this is a done deal. Article from the Mirror detailing his playing style: With the arrival of the January transfer window, Brendan Rodgers will be looking to build on the strong start to the season with a signing or two at Liverpool. And one name he is continually linked with is Basel youngster Mohamed Salah. But is he any good? Would he fit into to Rodgers' system at Liverpool? Here’s Ross Dunbar with everything you need to know about the 21-year-old: Salah has been on the radar of some English and German clubs for well over a year. In fact, the option was on the table for the Egypt international to leave Switzerland over the summe…

I'd like something decided by end of 2011 to be honest so we can get on with building/refurbishing the bloody thing transfer window out of the window, now let's make a final decision on the stadium before the next transfer window i think they are probably still negotiating a naming rights deal with someone and we will most likely announce we are moving to a new 65,000 stadium but i don't want it to drag on and on and on so i ask you ...when are we likely to get definitive stadium news?

I often find that the latest injury news gets buried in the match threads or in threads about individual players....So I thought a thread dedicated to the latest situation on our players with injuries might be a decent idea. Hopefully the forum server has enough bandwidth to cope.... So as it stands.... Luis Diaz: Knee Injury Oct 11: 'Six to eight weeks, we will see. He looks like a quick healer, but we will see. Could have been worse.' Potential Return 26/12/2022 Joel Matip: Calf/Shin/Heel Injury Further Detail Oct 21: 'Everything is going w…
