Premier League Round Up (May 3-6 2024)

    image.jpeg

We’ll start at the bottom this week, as Luton took a big step back towards the Championship after failing to beat Everton at home on Friday night. That kind of felt like their last throw of the dice, especially with Forest facing Sheffield United the following day and Burnley having crept right up on them too.

They fell behind to a fucking joke of a penalty awarded by VAR. Mengi was holding Branthwaite, but that happens a dozen times in every game and it’s never given. It was miles away from the ball too. Unbelievable that they gave that, especially having turned down a much clearer one for a foul on McNeil earlier. Calvert-Lewin just about put it away in unconvincing fashion.

Luton equalised with a superb goal by Adebayo, who brought it down on his chest, threw Ashley Old out of the way and then smashed past Pickford. Luton piled on the pressure late on but the goal wouldn’t come and although the point put them level with Forest, they knew it wasn’t enough.

They play West Ham and Fulham in their last two games though, and both of those are opportunities to pick up some points so they’re not quite dead yet.

“A big clingy”! Grossly unfair on Mount that. That woman was unhinged and told him she’d stopped buying food so she could get more numbers to text him on after he blocked them. 21 of them! And then started harassing his teammates.

Thought there would be more on their game for us to revel in. Onana, Casemeiro, Mainoo, poor old Jonny Evans (cunt really)...

And Ten Haag 67 injuries...

Reckon one of those was the kit man's assistant with a headache

Still fans shouldn't moan 2 fa cup finals in 2 years......

Having read the round-up, I felt it might be worth watching last week's MotD to view the latest collective display of inconsistent, illogical and plain wrong refereeing. What a shit show. Again. I wonder if there's a stat on how many times City have been given (gifted) a penalty to set up the all-important first goal in a match.

United get points because some teams turn up and play the shirt rather than the dross that's currently wearing them. I think we benefitted from that in the early 90s.

That just shows she's got more drive and will to win than he obviously does, the meek little grass.

That pen they got was a one in fifty decision.
