    Shrewsbury (A) Fa Cup 26/1/2020 - 17:00

I don't like the situation, but he's earned the right to be trusted and backed on this. He's not made a great impact on the domestic cups, yet we've made strides year on year in the league and CL. I don't think that's a coincidence. The weight of expectation on the players' shoulders and what we're doing week in week out takes a mental as well as physical toll. He wants them recharged and ready for a sprint to the finish in the two biggest competitions. I'd love us to win the FA Cup, as I always associate it with sunny days and big matches at Wembley. However, this has been brewing for a while, and it'll take a big fuss for the FA to finally fuck off replays.

Fair play to Shrewsbury. We were poor, but they deserve the replay, it'll be the highlight of their season.

Really looking forward to seeing Elliott again, he's looked sharp in the games he's had.

Five Deadly Venoms Classic '70s Shaw Brothers kung fu flick. A bit of intrigue and lots of bright red blood. Also has a line sampled by the Wu Tang Clan, which adds a point. 8/10

    He-Man: A Tribute

I really liked the battle armour ones, but the Prince Adam figure was my favourite, as he had a little velvet waistcoat. I lost it though. In many ways I've never got over that.
  11. Ask them to say it without crying, then fart in my hand and throw it at them.

I think we can all agree Avatar is shite though.

Man City - the new bitters?

Blue Moon's becoming a real guilty pleasure to read. It's like a case study in collective insanity; I reckon there's a book's worth of solid material in there - Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Blue Moon. You have to admire how, in a crowded field, they manage to be by far the most wilfully myopic deranged group of window lickers on the internet. No one can compete. Our Gimp XI look as outdated as Betamax to their UHD. Every poster is called blue something, and tries to outdo the last one in gnashing of teeth, conspiracy theories and - my personal favourite - witty names for things they don't like. The PGMOL became PiGMOL, and then PIGMOB. Geddit? A mob of pigs! Brilliant. I find myself genuinely fascinated to see if they can descend any further into rabid, bloodshot eyed, masturbating into their own faeces, #taintedtitle, toys out of pram insanity. And, fair play to them, they never let me down. Attenborough should do a series on them.

    Steve Nicol

It's grim listening to him. Every time I catch him on a stream I have to mute it as it's tough seeing a great ex-player descend into the drunk bloke in the pub talking bollocks. Pretty much auditioning for talksport at this stage.
  17. I really hope he chases the tortuous analogy of rebuilding a house to the point of insanity. November 19th 2020: After a cup loss to Oxford Utd, the interviewer was nonplussed by Ole's response to a question about Phil Jones' last minute own goal. He remained upbeat, staring into the middle distance, a smile on his face, mumbling "some times drains crack, and the council are slow to repair them, but we wanted to lower the kerb for a wider driveway anyway." He then walked shoeless out of the room, to drive to Dundee.

little things that annoy the shit out of you

Jehovah's witnesses knocking on doors mid-week when I'm expecting a parcel. I don't begrudge them doing what they think is right, but kindly stick to a designated day, so we can play out the charade of me hiding and pretending not to be in. That's one for the small pleasures thread. To cap it off, I've got two lots doing the rounds here now. It's descending into a turf war.
