I've just realised how many quality forumites are not ST holders. Let me sell it to you: we get our own cunt-free forum that is starting to take shape nicely. The football debate in there is (weird, I know) reasoned, reasonable, passionate and engaging. There's no bickering or abuse, no repetitive and dull threads where everyone says the same thing over and over again and generally a level of ownership that has been missing from the FF for years. You can also debate other stuff too, if you like. It really does feel like the forum used to feel back in the day. It's two quid a month, people. Not earth shattering by any means for the hours of entertainment many of you ge…

A thread for crime-related news stories that aren't worth their own thread and don't fit comfortably into other threads. Starting with this - film yourself licking ice cream before you buy it? Thirty days in a Texas jail. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-51762753 Land of the free, innit.

Why are they in Uefa Competitions, and Eurovision Song Contests? A simple answer will suffice.

I’ll start by calling them cunts to a man. Every cunt part of it and any cunt who voted for it. It does seem like the tide is shifting though and Labour aren’t doing anything to stop it. Social media is king these days and the right wing have got it wrapped round their little finger. Oh and Turdseye and Vlad are both from there. Just thought I’d remind people of that. How do we stop this shower of shite?

Americans - Season 2 Epis 1+2 have been a but sloppy. I enjoyed season 1, but so far this is a 6.5/10. Hannibal - Season 2 I started off not loving the first season, but I went back to it and I was really glad I did. It finished off at around 7.5/10. Season 2 is better: it's worth a solid 8/10.

Just stuck them on for the first time in ages. Sounds strange, but I'd actually forgotten how good they were. I reckon in 50-100 years time, they'll be placed alongside the likes of Beethoven and Mozart in terms of reaching musical perfection. Revolver is an absolute masterpiece. No two ways about it.

These fuckers are laughing at us. I was listening to some fella yesterday talking about it, saying as a race we are advanced enough to build planes/rockets but not prevent the damage to the environment etc. The terminators will be clever enough to work out a way to avoid all the shit that comes with good stuff. But at what cost? Programmers have apparently been saying that they no longer tell the terminators what to do, they now take things up by themselves and show humans what to do. Seems like some business owners won't be looking for talent in fields other than being able to manage the terminators in the not to distant future. Are we going full Skynet? Sho…

Welcome to the future. You simply have to hand it to the new owner of boxing. The clip won’t upload to the page… https://youtu.be/9ghGc7wgsAk?si=pGCbleUBV7xPFDG3 … but it’s essential viewing. “His Excellency” is a bigger troll than Carl Froch. And The Cobra himself has bowed down and agreed to take some of that old Bunsen burner.

With my head still spinning from the fact someone had been jailed for three months for posting nasty comments on Facebook and no news organisations seemed arsed, I turned on the telly to see that at some point over the last few months - without me realising it - Boris Johnson has turned into the English JFK. Yesterday I heard him described as 'blue Viagra', 'a future Prime Minister' and 'a political rock star'. Heard how journalists love him because he 'remembers their names', 'tells jokes' and 'is a character'. It seems obvious they're maneuvering to get him to replace Cameron for the simple reason that he'd make good news stories owing to the fact he's an utter, ut…

Seetha Hallett from one of those channel 4 property shows. Lose the wombat love and you'd get it twice with the same hard on.

With deference to Hicks' excellent musician crossword clue thread, here's one for film titles/actors etc. Hopefully it works... Father's vomiting? No returns. (8) Jordans swindled? (3,3)

In my case it's people who hold conversations in doorways then glare at you when you need to pass, or the person who stations their shopping trolley at the counter blocking off everyone else, the shopkeeper who holds your change whilst they are talking to someone else and you have to stand there like a lemon, when i'm in a queue why does it proceed in an orderly fashion until it gets to me, then the person before me has a time consuming problem.

Right, this is for the teachers, or anyone that knows the answer actually. Stuck in a job I fucking hate with a passion and want out. I've always fancied teaching (sort of my back up career in my mind), and done loads of coaching, training of colleagues friends over the years. I know I need more training to do it (already got a degree), but the problem is now financial. I live with and support financially, my girlfriend and 15 month old baby, and need to know: What are the starting salaries like? Whats this bursery thing I've heard about? Can you get support financially while training?(currently mortgaged up) I know I'm making it sound like I only wa…

About 4 rashers of smoked bacon (fried or grilled) 2 fried eggs 2 sausages A scoop of baked beans A decent portion of mushrooms (fresh ones cooked in butter, not those briney things you often get) A few grilled tomatoes (not the tinned stuff) 2 slices of buttered toast Tea Orange juice That's it. No black pudding. Black pudding is congealed blood, and has no place on your plate. Also, no pipetting drops of fancy stuff onto the eggs, which I think I saw Heston Blumenthal doing when he tarted up the Little Chef Olympic breakky (not that I wouldn't mind trying his version of it, mind you).

Watched my mother die in my arms today. sooner they find a cure for this horrible bastard fucking disease the better. Watching someone suffering in that way is unbearable for everyone. My heart goes out to anyone that has suffered in any way through cancer. the nurses at st davids hospice are angels. god bless them.

Probably deserves its own thread, seeing as we may be looking at another weekend of knobheads out “protesting” and it’s taken over the Southport thread. Dominated it from early on even. Starmer’s statement yesterday about setting up a police unit to follow the ringleaders around and put travel bans on them, make use of facial recognition, etc, similar to how footy hooligans are policed was a good start in my opinion. It shouldn’t be too difficult to quash these silly cunts with modern policing.

It's gonna kick the fuck off again. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/04/12/europe/ukraine-zelensky-front-lines/index.html Ukraine's President heads to the trenches as Russia masses its troops EXCLUSIVE by Matthew Chance, CNN Updated 1152 GMT (1952 HKT) April 12, 2021 On the front lines in eastern Ukraine (CNN)Ankle-deep in thick black sludge, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky moves stealthily with his troops in single file through the warren of trenches and tunnels that form the tense front lines in the east of his country. It feels more like the early 20th century than a modern conflict, with tired, nervous …

She’s just picked us up on the dog walk and gone into the shop to post a parcel. I was absolutely parched so said grab me a drink. What does she grab me? A can of cherry coke (because she’s addicted to it during this pregnancy despite it being bad for your health) which she could “share” with me. Why didn’t she get me a capri sun like a normal human?! If Capri Sun was in a normal plastic bottle it would be the best drink for thirst bar none Don’t het me wrong a fizzy drink gives that instant hit a bit like I imagine heroin to feel but it fades then you start burping. So I’m now sat here thirsty again unsatisfied and fed up.

I don't think we've got a thread for all things nautical, so I'm launching one with a tale to swell any Briton's heart with patriotic pride. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/rrs-boaty-mcboatface_uk_56edbec3e4b030d552ef678a?utm_hp_ref=uk& An open vote allowing the public to name a new £200 million Royal Research Ship has thrown up a sensational frontrunner — the RRS Boaty McBoatface. The suggestion for The National Research Council’s polar explorer is currently beating the RRS Henry Worseley and the RRS David Attenborough. The vessel, which is 128 metres long and is due to be in operation in the Arctic and Antarctic from 2019, will carry up to 90 sci…

Hopefully obvious. Clues be cryptic (good) or concise (lazy). Suggest we try to solve the clue before submitting the next one. I’ll open the batting with something obvious ; The almost mixed up tables (3, 7).

Y'know, just fucking boss tunes, tunes that you instinctively turn up to 11. Just had my iPOD on shuffle walking down the shops, and I got that immersed in "Life on Mars" i walked right past the fucking shop, and only realised about 150 yards further down the road. Other tune that can do that to me, "There she goes" by The La's, can get totally lost in that. Anyone else get this, or am i just fucking weird
