I've just realised how many quality forumites are not ST holders. Let me sell it to you: we get our own cunt-free forum that is starting to take shape nicely. The football debate in there is (weird, I know) reasoned, reasonable, passionate and engaging. There's no bickering or abuse, no repetitive and dull threads where everyone says the same thing over and over again and generally a level of ownership that has been missing from the FF for years. You can also debate other stuff too, if you like. It really does feel like the forum used to feel back in the day. It's two quid a month, people. Not earth shattering by any means for the hours of entertainment many of you ge…

It feels like it’s time for a new thread to discuss everything that Labour do going forward. Whatever you feel towards the current Labour party, they can’t be any worse than the last 14 years of the Tory party debacle.

Time to break him away from the trad Tech cunts as the fella is far more than just dabbling in global politics/gubmints/power. Space X, Starlink, Twitter are all simultaneously for sale to the highest bidder of any kind and immediately unavailable at this nerds whim. Elon Musk is showing the world how radicalized he has become. The billionaire, one of the most consequential figures to walk the Earth, spent another weekend swimming in the right-wing fever swamps of X. Musk equated moderating dangerous and appalling hate speech to “censorship,” bashed the press for legitimate reporting, assailed DEI programs without supporting evidence, skewered …

Listened to this Guardian Podcast before : Guardian Focus Podcast: Examining the British far right | World news | guardian.co.uk In England the far right seem a bit of a joke, I can't ever see the BNP or EDL taking off seriously. But in the likes of France and the Netherlands, it looks like it is gathering more support. And unlike Nick Griffin, I get the impression a lot of people in, say, France see the likes of Marine Le Pen as a credible politician. So, what do you think of it then? Where is it going to end? Will we see another openly fascist country in Europe anytime soon?

I used to think Scotland would be making a mistake by leaving the UK but the more I think about it, the more it would make sense for Scots to vote for independence. The biggest plus point of independence would be to be free of the Tories - forever. Doesn't get better than that. There's a few more benefits of independence and some drawbacks I suppose but getting rid off Cameron's mob is worth a 'Yes' vote alone.

A thread for crime-related news stories that aren't worth their own thread and don't fit comfortably into other threads. Starting with this - film yourself licking ice cream before you buy it? Thirty days in a Texas jail. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-51762753 Land of the free, innit.

Americans - Season 2 Epis 1+2 have been a but sloppy. I enjoyed season 1, but so far this is a 6.5/10. Hannibal - Season 2 I started off not loving the first season, but I went back to it and I was really glad I did. It finished off at around 7.5/10. Season 2 is better: it's worth a solid 8/10.

Just watching tv series and it struck me how stupid it is that when they show a character out jogging or running they run down the middle of the road, often at night and with no high visibility clothing. In the middle of a city and the character can sometimes be darker skinned too. Really stupid. I am sure there is similar thread somewhere but finding it is more difficult than finding Shergar. Note to Mr Usher,Get off the golf course and sort the search facility out, especially on mobile.

Mine is the Lebua tower in Bangkok. We stayed for a night and the room was £400 for 1 night as a treat before we flew home. The sky bar was something else. We went up and they handed me a menu for champagne and the cheapest bottle was about £900 up to £5000. Think there was cheaper options but they were not on the menu. A beer and a vodka and coke was around £50. We had one drink and ended up in McDonald’s over the road. The next morning we got breakfast on room service and it was basically a continental breakfast for about £80 and if we wanted a tin of caviar was £1000 and up to £4000. It was at that point I rea…

In my case it's people who hold conversations in doorways then glare at you when you need to pass, or the person who stations their shopping trolley at the counter blocking off everyone else, the shopkeeper who holds your change whilst they are talking to someone else and you have to stand there like a lemon, when i'm in a queue why does it proceed in an orderly fashion until it gets to me, then the person before me has a time consuming problem.

Noticed there's a fair few wrestling fans on here so I thought I'd set up a thread to discuss best matches, favourite moments etc from WWE, TNA, WCW/ECW, ROH or Indie promotions. Also, if you're gonna discuss the live shows like Smackdown for instance, use spoilers please. Anyway to kickstart this thread, my favourite ever match is TLC 2. Always been a huge fan of Jeff Hardy and this match had me gripped from start to finish. Jeff was at his best here and the spear by Edge is an iconic moment in wrestling. Also, Brock is fucking ace. That is all.

It’s time we upped sticks and let the 2022 thread die. It’s never been more exciting to be a fan of the sweet science. Anthony Joshua is fighting Ngannou tonight and it’s just been announced that 57 year-old Mike Tyson is fighting that YouTube knobhead, Jake Paul, steamed live on Netflix. Seriously. This is the golden age.

A sister thread to the ruined by... one. I've a feeling this may be more difficult. The Fly (1958), improved by David Cronenberg in his 1986 remake. Cheese on toast, improved by Worcestershire sauce.

It’s Saturday night. It’s an international break from the unmentionable so let’s do another nerdy list. Hopefully self explanatory but let’s be flexible about the meaning of the word ‘word’ and allow countries, names etc. As ever, try to adhere to the concept of alphabetical order and post the lyric not just a You Tube link. I’ve been drinking at the Test match all day so I’ll open the batting with “King of Rock n Roll by Prefab Sprout that mentions Albuquerque. I’m pretty sure that’s unique.

Y'know, just fucking boss tunes, tunes that you instinctively turn up to 11. Just had my iPOD on shuffle walking down the shops, and I got that immersed in "Life on Mars" i walked right past the fucking shop, and only realised about 150 yards further down the road. Other tune that can do that to me, "There she goes" by The La's, can get totally lost in that. Anyone else get this, or am i just fucking weird
