Totally unfair expectations and weight on his shoulders as a result.

If it's a shock to him, and we consider having to score goals/contribute in all aspects of a Klopp system, a totally unfair expectation on a 24 year old international striker then we're really fucked.

Not the lad's fault what we paid for him.

I'm hoping he works out.

Expectations are that he does better and puts up the sort of numbers a Liverpool forward has to in a title challenging team. Same for Diaz too. Price tag is irrelevant, if they can’t get to the standard they get to the back of the queue.

I only saw the game up 'til they went 1-0 up yesterday but did he have a single chance?

We know he's not really a Suarez/Torres type player who makes goals from nothing on a regular basis so I'm not sure what we were expecting from him yesterday. If the team are playing shite & don't create chances for him, he's not going to score.

He needs quick balls in behind or crosses coming in.

The offside thing is a problem though, he needs to sort that out and quickly.

His biggest strength is getting shots off, so yes, he should be creating some stuff from nothing. Obviously, on top of also getting decent service.

We need Robbo back. Or Jota. Both actually look to run on the outside and play it into areas where the striker might be, rather than turn inside and hope there'll be some pathway open up through the trees. Diaz and Salah play it inside way too much.

Kostas made a zillion runs outside Diaz, all to no avail as all Diaz is interested in is running slowly across the front of the box trying to get a shot in.  Robertson wouldn’t have got any service either.

He tends to hold a slightly deeper position, but yes. Might have more to do with Robbo's seniority in the dressing room that he gets those passes.

Not right or fair, it's an issue regardless. Too predictable at the moment.

Funny that we’re top despite our forwards not firing on all cylinders. Darwin undoubtedly contributing to our success but not scoring as many as we’d like yet, Jota scoring in fits and starts, Diaz underperforming. Even Salah hasn’t always been playing well despite consistently hitting amazing numbers. But we’re top, and we’ve only lost one game which we didn’t really lose. Yet look at our rivals, both havin similar complaints with their forward lines. Wonder whether they’re all yet to fully fire, whether there’s something happening tactically to slightly reduce output, or whether we’re just all spoiled and expect too much. No conclusions here it’s just quite interesting

I think whats happening is simply that we have more relevant forwards than anyone else, we have the best goalkeeper around and the midfield is running more than last season.

On the forwards specifically, no one is cutting it in attack besides Salah but when theyre all fit, they will collectively tire the opposition out. We are seeing what happens when even just one of them is injured, though. The last few games, none of them are having an impact, they dont have the benefit of being a big group, where two of them can come on to face tired defenses.

Its a real shame with Diaz and Nunez, specifically, because with Klopp they should develop into world class players, but it isnt happening. Maybe it s the language and communication that hasnt been the best there, compared to a Salah and Mane that had played in England, Mane may have known some German, Firmino definitely knew German. Maybe to get the most out of Klopp, we shouldnt buy South Americans from abroad who dont know the language.

We've scored the second most goals in the league(2 behind City who are on 38), I put this down to more goals coming from all over the pitch(mainly midfield) which is something we weren't doing as much of in past seasons, obviously would be nice if we were hammering in more goals but there isnt really a discrepancy in terms of our position/other teams.

The captain chaos fans will be after anyone who dare slate this lad. He was poor today as we’re many others, but he’s been poor for a long time. If there’s no space to run into he’s shite. He doesn’t understand offside so stifles the attack more often than not.
Get the Openda fella from Leipzig in. Nunez isn’t ice cold enough to lead the line for a club of our stature.

Poor performance, but part of any criticism has to be on Klopp. The lad's thicker than a boxing day turd, and his skillset isn't suited to timing small runs against deep-lying defences. Only the truly myopic would've been surprised by his performance today. When he starts, he does little and gets hooked on the hour mark.

Off the bench today, against a 74 year old Johnny Evans, I'd have fancied him to cause mayhem and get a goal or assist.

On a side note, I'd like to see him and Balotelli have a game of chess and see who eats a piece first.
