Atalanta (H) - EL Quarter Final, 1st leg - Thu 11th Apr 2024 (8:00pm)

Jones and Tsimikas understandably rusty from not having played much the last months, but Tsimikas seems tactically a bit dim as well. Kelleher has saved us at least two times this game, so I’ll not be overtly critical. The entire team misses easy passes and we don’t seem to have a plan to counter Atalanta’s press.

McManaman vocabulary calender was definitely 'Glorius Isolstion' today. The prick

And take a note of the words ‘glorious isolation’. I like it, and I want to shoehorn it into every conversation

Elliot and Jones need to be hauled off, destroying every move and making everyone else lose confidence.  Should never start both.

Elliot is playing ok. Twice he was in a great position and should have received better balls from Gakpo.

I will happily change the whole fucking team though.

Should be 0-2. Two brilliant saves Kelleher probably shouldn’t have gotten to though he should have saved the goal.

Don’t really enjoy seeing Nunez smiling after a bad miss. He’s such a streaky player, ten great games and then ten poor ones.

Tsimikas has been horrible and Jones has been far too slow. I can see why Konate has dropped behind Quansah.

Atalanta are really well drilled and set-up. Completely have our number tonight.

A kind of reverse of the United game. This time we’re going in at half time wondering how we’re not 2 or 3 behind.

Literally everyone of them have been shite. Atalanta’s tactics have been spot on. Cut off our central defenders and Endo’s ability to build up attacks and have made Mac Allister have to try and drop deeper to try and get involved.

Changes to be made at half time. Utterly criminal if the same XI come out for the second half.
