Pretty much an average squad- with two first team strikers (one of whome had a broken leg for pretty much the whole of the season) with the odd smattering of quality here and there won the European Cup in the most remarkable fashion. A tactical number on Juventus in Turin, two defensive masterclasses against a Chelsea team who amassed more points than any other side in Premiership history, and an unbelievable comeback against the side who arguably were the best in Europe at the time.
