I couldn't give a shite about England, but Southgate seems like a thoroughly likeable and decent man. 

 

A small part of me doesn't want me to wish incredible ill will on a guy who seems sound, but being honest it would be hillariously car crash. Like Ole, he would have all the media covering for him after home defeats to Bournemouth or Crystal Palace.

 

To be fair, I found it hard to dislike Van Gaal, who seemed like a good egg. A mate of mine met him once and said he was really sound. Said he was chatting away with his wife in the car about how much he loved our great sides of the 70s and 80s.

He was on the radio today saying he's doing great. The press are taking the piss out of him I think. They're talking about him having the best win percentage of any of their managers ever, he was saying "and if it wasn't for injuries, we'd have won 70% and it shows how we're getting there". He genuinely sounds like he believes it.
