Phil Neville is actually pretty funny. He's worked out what he's gonna say, and just says it no matter what the question is.

Very true. He was saying yesterday how you have to stay on your feet when no one had got off the ground, just as one of those formulaic things he says..

I'm neither here nor there about Sherwood. But it's refreshing to see a new name being bandied about. The same old 'experienced' names crop up time after time no matter how many times they have be given the arse. It must be a cunt of a thing trying to break into the manager's little circle of convenience.

It's weird how there seems to be no proper structure for bringing through new managers and coaches in England. You'd think the role requires more skills and training than merely being an ex footballer who fancies a bash.

Stuff like handling agents, player psychology, visiting other countries and being exposed to different kinds of tactics, hearing other managers give talks etc should be part of some apprenticeship while they serve their time under an experienced boss somewhere. It happens with new players and low level coaches but not managers, strange.

A lot of young English managers in the last few years have fitted the profile of people like Stuart Pearce and Sherwood who've had to sink or swim and have often been overwhelmed and floundered early doors, never quite regaining their initial reputation again.

Did anyone catch Neville and co on Motd last night? They were showing the Aguero hand ball in which he used his hand to divert it into the net. "That's what strikers do" according to Neville, nothing more said about it.

Imagine if it was Suarez, I'm sure the narrative changes.

He's gone.

Get over it.

Etc.

I don't think the narrative would change with Gary Neville, he said there was no intent with the Costa stamp. Probably would say Suarez was being clever. Phil Neville on the other hand, who cares what that idiot thinks? his opinions are void because, well, he's Phil Neville.

QPR have announced that caretaker boss Chris Ramsey will be the new manager until the summer. After their owner's tweets about securing his "dream manager" and how it wasn't one of the names doing the rounds, it seems as though he's jumped the gun and managed to end a possible deal with whoever it was he was after. It will look even more ridiculous when he ends up hiring one of the typical/uninspired names in the summer. In the mean time, Chris Ramsey is left as the token black guy given the role after the transfer window has passed so therefore should be grateful to work with what he has, until some non-black guy becomes available in the summer. Will he be doing post-match interviews while on the verge of tears after a defeat like the last token black guy to be given the job (Terry Connor at Wolves)?

Ivanovic to face no action from FA........looks like the turd that manages Chelsea has free reign to do what the fuck he wants now for the rest of the season

In a way, I'm glad, cos it was giving that preening cunt exactly what he wants with his team - a victim complex. Siege mentality and all that bollocks. He's got them all convinced the FA have it in for them and will do them for everything while they've done nothing wrong.

I take it that ditty they love singing about us all the time is classic Cockney, self-deprecating humour, that they're known so famously for down there. Always the victims indeed.

Indeed. Was nice to see Martin Keown make that very point on match of the day.

It's obviously exactly what he wants.

The best way for him not to get what he wants is for the media to boycott his press conferences when he's pulled the not speaking routine, the FA to clobber him every time he talks shit to put pressure on them and refs, and the FA to clobber his players every time they pull dirty tricks they're trained to employ just as all his other clubs have been.

A forlorn hope, sadly.
