im not really feeling the worries about the midfield. i think that some people were played out of position and with the wrong game agenda often, especially Lucas who is a far better attacking midfielder than he is defensive.

Gerrard is a playmaker and i think Aquilani should be too. He has hardly played any football in a long long time, is it any wonder if he is a little sloppy seemingly at times. i think we should be playing him every chance we get tbh. Cole is another playmaker.

If we keep Mascherano and we have Poulsen then we have defensive midfield covered.

Gerrard, Cole attacking playmakers.

Not even mentioned the fact we have Maxi yet! and then of course the understudy for Gerrard, Shelvey.

Basically we have an embarrassment of riches imo all of a sudden with the luxury of using Maxi on the right wing along with Kuyt and we have Jovanovich (excellent signing btw) and Babel out on the left.

Bloody good situation if you ask me and i for one am very optomistic about this season. we even seem to have a goal hungry ngog as backup for torres and i always said ngog was going to be a good striker and he is. he just needed time and now we have gotten the nightmare season out of the way in which he was thrown in as the starter he is now ready to do the business. some games will suit a torres and ngog strike team double and unless we are major injury stricken then Roy has a midfield selection nightmare job on his hands. Happy days. we even have youngsters in the wings who can come in and shine if and when they get the chance.

dont be so worried about us this year, just forget last year. Roy will get this sorted out im very sure. i liked Rafa but I like Roy too and im looking forward to seeing a regular starting 11 when he quickly decides on what that is.

I agree with your optimism and most of your post, except about centre midfield and Aquilani.

I don't think Shelvey is the understudy for Gerrard, as if Gerrard doesn't play I think we are more likely to see two of the following options in the centre midfield - Mascherano, Poulsen, Lucas or Aquilani - ahead of Shelvey.

I think he should be the understudy to Gerrard, I just don't think he is.

He's not a very good footballer. We'll sell him and he'll be forgotten. Only his twitter will survive.

I can probably find you some clips of Robbie Savage doing apparently ace things on youtube if you like. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to upload the clips where Babel fails to control the ball or endangers the crowd, as the servers cannot cope with the load.

Yeah, well when Savage turns out in red, feel free to post videos on why he should play.

Every Liverpool player has had poor games and runs of form, Babel included. His crime was to fall out with the last boss. Under a new boss, and a decent run in the team, he is very capable of showing us what we know he can do.

Why would anyone want to rest Joe Cole? He is now facing a three match ban in the league, and he needs every minute on the pitch to gain momentum, and learn with his new team mates.

My way of looking at it is whoever is due to replace him in the three maches needs games now - more than Cole does.

What do you know that he can do?

I know for instance, that he can run like an retard into a defender time and time again.

I know he can disapear from matches when he doesn't fancy it.

I know he has the ability to pick out a keeper from out wide with deadly accuracy.

I know that when you need to scrap and battle, you best keep on the bench.

Babels run of poor form has last three seasons.

£20 to the HJC if Babel starts more than 25 games in all competitions.

£20 if he gets more than 10 goals in all competitions.

Given your conviction that a new manager will somehow fix his lack of ability, that's easy money I reckon. He's done both in previous seasons under the last manager.

For Liverpool though! You might get caught out on a technicality when he scores his 11 goal for Scope FC

I'll take you up on the ten goals in all competitions bet if you like. I don't reckon he'll start 25 games though.

Good cause anyway so it's win win

Not wanting an argument but why do you think he is good enough? I'm genuinely interested. I think he's lazy and lacks footballing brains but would love to be proven wrong.

I can understand why people don't think BAbel will be a success, as frankly he hasn't up until now - bar the odd flashes.

But I don't think it is fair to keep calling him lazy. Last season, I don't think he was lazy at all, when used. He has been lazy in the past, but I don't think that is the case anymore.

If people want to talk about being lazy - Torres was hardly working his ass off when used on Sunday.

If I could sum him up - lazy would do it for me. If shitehawk was taken.

I dont count the last 3 months of last season, as his agenda was gatecrashing the world cup party. Which he did.

He should put in performances like that every game - because he's paid enough to do it. The lazy cunt.

I don't think it was just the last three months of the season, when Rafa decided to use him more. I thought starting from pre season last year he worked as hard as anyone, bar Kuyt obviously.

I think it is lazy criticism if anything and it is just a tag that has stuck with him when criticising him.

If you want to criticise him, I think there are plenty of other valid points to focus on.
