It was supposed to be funny that anyone would have such a violently over-the-top reaction to such an utterly inconsequential decision.  It was meant to be absurd, because something like that wouldn't happen in real life.

I assume there hasn't been any consequences for them surrounding the ref at full time(past the red card) and their owner chasing the refs down the tunnel either?

And no fuss has been made about the fan who came onto the pitch to have a go at Tierney. Which is quite incredible in this day and age. It's usually referees first defence about being shit.
