Etoo's agent is quoted as saying he's going nowhere because no-one else will match his wage and money > everything else. It was quite refreshing to read. "we only care about the money".

Mental, maybe his agent is just saying that because he's already decided where he wants to go? Won't be surprised to see him at Chelsea shortly anyway, unless they find another striker to go for. Maybe even Luis, but with the way Henry has talked we might just refuse the offer. Hope we do if it's running towards the end of the window, or maybe no matter when they bid if they do.

Ask Charlie Nicholas! Back in the day, when clubs signed one or two first team players at most, often signed nobody - he was our first choice and chose Arsenal.

So it is in certain circumstances.

Nothing cast in iron of course; we're talking here about the general trend rather than the exceptions. The point being we're the most attractive destination for top talent in England at the time, with a better pull than Man U have today. I doubt we would have failed with the likes of Fabregas, or the Barca kid for instance ( forgot the name) who preferred Bayren over the Scum.

And that was not too long ago eihter; remember Keane who as a matter of fact came to us instead of going to Man U.

Cissokho should do well in our system. Good at bombing on and linking up with the attack. Not that great defensively but just about good enough. Basically a left-sided version of Johnson.

I remember seeing him play for Porto and he really stood out, hope he regains his form as he looked one hell of a player.

Why are you making fun of Arsenal?

We've got £5m profit from the transfers this season.

Both owners and the manager insist the Reds’ inactivity in the transfer market isn’t down to a lack of funds. The money is there but spending it on what they want has been the problem when you can’t offer Champions League football.

James Pearce: Liverpool FC ready to go but more still needed to make a real challenge - James Pearce - Liverpool Echo

So We've got money but, we're not signing anybody.... yeah right...

Sure, there are plenty of shit players we could buy, but we've tried that and it didn't work.

If you haven't noticed, one of the modern trends in football is the difficulty in attracting proven stars to a team without Champion's League football. One may imagine, therefore, given our lack of said football, that we are struggling to attract those players.

What do you think?

If we can add Willian and Cissokho to this squad we will be looking very strong. I still worry about the Gerrard-Lucas combination but it doesn't look like we're going to do anything in that area so hopefully we see a much improved Joe Allen this season.
