Theres far worse managers than rodgers too, these owners arent top four in the prem owners list theyre american and dont even grasp the game, theres owners of non league clubs who know more and indeed care more for the footy. The owners haven't made him sign mediocre players, play them out of position, alienate them for no reason or refuse to address the obvious need for a defensive midfielder. A lot of managers would have used the money better and even if they didn't really like the players the committee bought they wouldn't cut their nose off to spite their face by refusing to play them.

 

I get the frustration about the owners but Rodgers should be able to get far more out of the team than he's doing at the moment. I'm no big fan of the owners myself but they have given him money to build a decent team even though it's mostly been from player sales.

Agree with all of that, also the stuff about it being the least northern town, it's more like a southern outpost. Went there a few weeks back, liverpool council have a lot to learn from Manchester council with regards to attracting money into the city, especially more transport infrastructure. It doesn't have much of a soul or identity to it though, most of the buildings are bland flat pack crappy quality. Plus there isn't that much there that would interest a foreign visitor. It's like come to Liverpool and see the nice architecture, musical heritage, the river and beaches, come to Manchester, go round the shops and have a nice drink by the canal.
