Bare facts of the matter is that he's made 3 outstanding saves in 2 games that have prevented goals, would Pepe have done the same? You can't say - although Code might trot out some useless stats to prove a point.

 

The only stats that matter are two games, two wins, no goals conceded, one penalty save.

 

Mignolet does not have to be better than Pepe, he just needs to be not significantly worse.

I loved Pepe (still do) but there's no denying that Mignolet has been spot on so far. No doubt he'll face tougher tests as the season progresses, but I'd also expect his performances to improve, as he gets more accustomed to his team-mates.

 

I was gutted to see Pepe go, but I think FSG did exactly what they had to. In a position as important as goalkeeper, you need 100% commitment that your first-choice will be there after the transfer window. Pepe couldn't give that, so they had to act quickly to get a replacement in. And they've got a good'un!

Can you please give me an example, just one will do, when a shot was hit from 14/15yrds and about as hard as a human can possibly smash it, and Reina being so well positioned that he just calmly caught it? Just one. I mean, it's a 'routine' save, so it shouldn't be too hard to name 10 or 20 of them. I just want one.
