Pretty damning that.

Origi may not have Sturridge's talent, but he is contributing goals.

Sturridge is next to no use to us....obviously not because he hasn't got the ability - simply because he does not play enough.

34 appearances in last 92 it will be on Weds - and he has been worth a mere 12 league goals to us in 2 and a half seasons. A centre half probably weighs in with about that many goals in the same period.......simply because Sturridge can't be relied upon to play enough games/has become seen as unworthy of a starting place by the manager

He has to shipped out just based on these facts.

We can't afford to pay him whatever it is we pay him to get that kind of return

Heaton is going to cost 15ml plus and is in noway worth even half of that amount.

If it was Jack Butland for that money then yes id happily see it paid(though sadly he culd well be knackered thanks to a England friendly with having a second ankle surgery 7 months after the injury as it has not healed.

Seeing as Inter are supposedly interested in Sakho id be going after this guy that wants out if they dont make the top 4. Not a kid at 32 but still a good few years left

If he's any good then yeah, happy for us to bring him in.

Despite his large stature and imposing physique, which make him effective at handling crosses, Handanović is an extremely agile and athletic goalkeeper, who is renowned in particular for his outstanding reflexes, acrobatic saves and excellent shot-stopping abilities, as well as his ability to organise his defence.[95][96][97][98][99]

Regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and Italy due to his performances, he is also known for his speed off his line and anticipation as a goalkeeper, which make him particularly adept at stopping spot-kicks, and, as a result, he has developed a reputation as an exceptional penalty-kick saving specialist, having stopped an Italian record of six consecutive penalties between 2013 and 2015.[95][97][100][101][102][103]

With 22 saves, he has stopped the second-most penalties in Serie A behind Gianluca Pagliuca, with 24 saves,[95][104] although Handanović has a superior success rate.[94][105] In a 2016 interview, Handanović stated that his main influences as a goalkeeper were his cousin Jasmin Handanović and Peter Schmeichel.

This is the kind of post someone would do in a draft.

Remember last summer when we needed a top quality GK, CB, LB, CM, LW & goalscoring striker?  Well we still need them all now

Although Milner's probably been one of the best LB 's in the country this season so we can hang on a bit longer there

Maybe it says something about how the answer to all of a football clubs' problems isn't "buy different players" that this is arguably the case and we've gone from being 8th to being in the title race.

well both of our keepers are crap, Lovren's having another mid-season crisis, opposition midfielders seem to have realised they can walk through to our goal unchallenged again, we've still got no outlet on the left wing and Sturridge and Ings are crocked again so these positions are all gonna need addressing soon.

He is good. He can actually catch a fucking cross as well. Saw him play against Roma and although the first goal could have been prevented in a 2-1 defeat he made a string of saves to keep the score down. Not sure how much we would have to pay though. Probably more than £15m.

and you may be seeing now how not having those necessary re-inforcements is about to take us from the title race to the race for 6th....

I'd really like us to get Jan Oblak, but this guy sounds more realistic. I'm all in.

An Anelka/Litmanen style out of the blue signing early in January would be great.

What's more likely is a series of strong links to Azmoun or Pulisic which don't even last until the last day of the month, at which point the club compensate with a news story of Grujic telling fans that they haven't seen the best of him yet.

A new contract for Woodburn.
