Looking for a traditional straight fit with a bit of stretch. Thigh and nut room are important. Button flies need not apply.

I'm at an age where I couldn't give a fuck about where my clothes are from. With that in mind, Tesco do fairly nice jeans. The fit is good and there's a bit of stretch to them. If you're not arsed walking round in Tesco jeans, then I do recommend them.

Uniqlo. The selvedge are great quality, really cheap and have no stupid branding. Only jeans I've worn for years now.

I found Next jeans a little too low on the waist, with a small fly.

Often I'll just pick a pair from whatever is in TK Maxx, for day-to-day wear. If I fancy a "decent" pair then I like Levis 504s and Replay for the skinnier jean.

 

As I start my descent in to middle and old age, I take inspiration from Larry David and find myself wearing jeans less and chinos and heavy cotton trousers more. Actually, I'm reverting a little to my teenage, wannabe skater self. Which is a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good look.

I love my 501's, just incredibly comfy but they've got a button fly.

 

My 502's have a zip fly though, but they just don't feel quite so comfy.

I tend to wear black jeans just about all the time now. I can't be arsed with proper kecks that need ironing and I can't help feeling that blue jeans are just a bit too Clarkson on a man my age.

I haven’t bought a pair of jeans for about ten years, but I have got Levi’s - Levi’s Vintage Clothing (LVC) - and Edwin ones that are still going strong. I agree with Cloggy, Uniqlo selvedge jeans are good value for money, or at least they were when I last bought a pair.
