People outside of our club are underestimating the influence Van Dijk has had on our whole team.

Was magnificent and won everything in the air.

We were sloppy for the first 15 mins of the second period.

But the last half-hour was a defensive tour de force.

Well in, VVD.

Oh... ... and Živili, Dejane!!!

Not a cunting shot on target.

Well played lids.

Put us under a bit of pressure but defence is half the game, just because we we were under pressure doesn't by any stretch mean we didn't play well in the second half. We stopped the best team in the country even getting a shot on goal, that in itself is an achievement.

Am I right in thinking Klopp has only ever lost 1 European match with us, in the Europa final? Good going that.

That's what I love about Klopp - his European nous!

3-0 is a massive result. Three goals very welcome. As was the clean sheet. Advantage Liverpool. You would have to think we can score at the Etihad, so Man City will have to be perfect to beat us. It's still not over and we will have to turn up and play, but we couldn't ask for any more from them tonight.

I can see Klopp resting a few against Everton, especially with Chelsea ten points behind us. Top four isn't over, but we do have a bit of breathing room, and if we are managing the games we need to keep a few fresher for the City game.

Hopefully Mo was just a slight twinge and precautionary. Rest him against Everton. Don't want those blues to kick him off the park. Then he can score at the Etihad and see us through.

Lordy lordy lordy. Turn of the year everyones arse would have been twitching in that last 20 minutes but tonight there was no such biting of finger nails because now Liverpool are more regimented not just in defence but throughout the team. Shame Henderson got that late booking as he misses the 2nd leg. But we should be able to complete with them at their gaff on that showing tonight.

Good performances throughout the team and 3 well taken goals. Who would not have taken that scoreline before kick off. Half time and still plenty to play for. Keeping a clean sheet by us is going to be so so important. If we nick a goal at their place that would be tremendous.

MoTM is a toss up between Andy Robbo and TAA but I will give it Trent by a short nose because Sane got no change out of him all game.

I think Guardiola's plan was to exploit TAA tonight. Unfortunately for him (and fortunately for us) TAA had a massive game tonight and had Mane and Silva in his sights all the way through the match.

Well payed young man.

Robertson was immense and at one point Walker looked to Stirling with a wide ball, seen Robbo was there and passed it back. Loving his work.

Ben:I think we should be mindful about what happened to Man City on the way into the ground. No wonder they aren’t in their grove. It’s disgusting what’s happened

Mike: Wonder how much the events before the game affected City's first half performance? You could stop this by calling the game off and playing it at a neutral venue.

And it begins.
