Time will tell how good is the new shareholder. He might be in for a quick profit by selling up after a couple of seasons to loan arrangers or some wealthy oil dictators (unlike considering the oil prices and the availability); or he might actually have a long term investment plan for Everton and takes them to the next level.

It is good for them that, that at least for now, the other take over from Texas didn't go ahead.

Everton is a bigger club than chelsea and city, it is simply under-funded.

From our point of view, a strong Everton F.C. is one of our last hopes of actually improving. A strong Everton would trigger pressure from our local fans to our board members for better management, better and more transparent investments or even a possible sale. Local competition could help us evolve, instead of sitting 8th in the League and scratching our bollocks, writing off seasons after seasons, letting the FSG gangsters do whatever they like.

Investment will help Everton, but I don't think it's going to be a sea change for them.

The finances of all PL clubs have been given a shot in the arm via the new TV deal, and even if somebody where to put 300m on the table purely for new players, we've seen similar sums frittered away by other clubs in the past. I don't think you can really succeed with a one off investment, it needs to be a repeated round of investments, accepting that there will be lots of hits and misses with transfers until you find a decent balance - and even then you're only 'balanced' for 3 or 4 years before you need to refresh things.

Some clubs and owners might also be bouyed by Leicester's success, but I think it's a hell of a long shot to hope you can repeat it - it might be another 40 years before another Leicester moment happens (and it may well prove to be a 'moment' rather than a continued success story).

All that bollocks about Everton being a 'bigger club' compared with others is pointless. It's an investment opportunity. It doesn't matter how big or small a club is, it's about how much growth / profitability can be had from it (assuming profitability is what the investors are aiming for).

A billionaire investor won't go amiss at any club, but a personal wealth of a billion isn't going to equate in much more than 10% of that being invested in a football club, and it's unlikely to be a 'gift' to the club either. Sooner or later, most investors want it back with profits.

I don't think LIverpool, City, Spurs, United, Chelsea, Arsenal will flinch an inch. I doubt Newcastle will lose much sleep over it, and West Ham are unlikely to do much more than cast a sideways glance.

Rather than moving them forwards leaps and bounds, I think new investment might stop them falling further behind.

Is there another club anywhere in the world that has such a high opinion of what it means to be a supporter of their club. All this born, not manufactured shit, Kenwrights quotes of teaching the new owner what it's like to be an Evertonian like its some sort of Exclusive club. Seriously deluded cunts.

They suffer from serious significance issues...only explanation for them needing to constantly justify what they are and have people hear them say it.

Completely agree. It's like they believe they are the only true football fans left in the world and every fan of every other club should aspire to be as good as them.

I bet when some of them have a wank they pat themselves on the back for doing it the right way and better than everyone else.

When in reality they are just obsessed with us. The first thoughts on the takeover were how much it would piss us off and how we are all shitting ourselves about them becoming a force again.a lot of them have no idea about this Iranian fella apart from the fact that they think he is richer than John Henry. Mind you, I suppose that is all that matters to them.

Utter bollocks.

Firstly, the point about Everton being a "bigger club" (whatever that means) than Chelsea is moot to an investor; Chelsea are in a part of the country that is dripping with money, while Everton, it's fair to say, are not.  Even before Abramovich (a real gangster, unlike FSG) Chelsea were able to attract high profile, big name imports.  City were an attractive investment, because they came with a free stadium.

But the last paragraph is the worst.  Do you seriously imagine Liverpool fans - local or otherwise - give a fuck about how Everton are doing?  We want our team to improve, because it's currently not good enough.  If there are six or seven teams in the league better than Liverpool, that's not good enough; whether or not Everton are one of those six or seven is neither here nor there.  Unlike the Blueshite, we are not constantly looking across the Park to decide whether or not we are happy with our own team.

I think it's a way of trying to convince everyone, especially themselves, that they don't want what we've got. A global following.

I don't agree with that. Chelsea attracted players for a couple of years before Abramovic, which took them to within days of administration. If we had not fucked up and lost at the bridge for that CL place, Abramovic had a deal to buy spurs, only the fact chelsea got in the CL did he change his mind. Chelsea would be Leeds now. Chelsea  were a nothing club before Abramovic, the countries big 6 traditionally before that were regarded as the 2 Liverpool clubs, the 2 Manchester clubs and the 2 north London clubs. Chelsea were just West Ham with their dicks out.

Things may have changed now and are unlikely to in the foreseeable future, but despite our dislike for our blue neighbours, they're a historically big club.
