Right, thanks to all atk's sterling efforts in getting it organised, we can now confirm the time, place, cost etc.

 

It's Monday September 25 at Huyton & Prescot and the first tee off time is 10.30. Everyone should be looking to get there no later than 10 though, as obviously we need to sort out the pairings, tee times and that.

 

The total cost of the day will be £31. That's for 18 holes, a bit of a meal afterwards (fish, chicken or pie etc with chips) and a fiver towards raffle tickets. We'll be sorting out loads of prizes (mainly signed LFC stuff) for the raffle, as well as a trophy for the winner and prizes for longest drive, nearest the pin etc so the fiver goes towards the cost of those and what money is left goes towards the hosting fees for the site.

 

There are forty places available, and it's first come first serve. We need a £5 deposit, which you can pay at the link at the bottom of this post. If you don't want to pay it via paypal, then you'll have to pm me to organise how to pay it (anyone going the game on saturday can see me then if they'd prefer, but let me know so I can get your name down on the list of 40).

 

That deposit obviously comes off the total cost, so you'll only have to pay £26 on the day. That's a pretty damn good price to play 18 holes on a private course and get a bit of scran afterwards.

 

Priority on the places has to be given to forum members, but if we're struggling to fill the 40 spots then it'll be fine if you want to bring someone.

Oh, one other thing. As it's a bit of a posh course there is a bit of a dress code. You must have golf shoes, polo shirt and no jeans or trackies!

 

Edit: I've had to add another 50p onto the deposit because paypal were taking a cut. So the total cost is £31.50 now!

I'm up for this, fresh from my hole in one at Haydock Park last friday! (honest!).

But I must point out that despite the fact I did this I am still seriously shite and will require a handicap of at least 38, oh and someone in our team who knows how to score the card????

We playin stableford?

Should be able to sort a prize of some sort too!

Dave I will hunt thee down like a rabbid dog on Saturday!!!

Great stuff. If you're shite, you can play with RedKnight to make him feel better as he's done nothing but look for sympathy about his shiteness since he agreed to play!

Well after paying my deposit last night I've managed to get the day off this morning. Ace. Can you put all us really bad players together?

Once we've got the full list together, we'll find out roughly what everyone's handicap is (I know not everyone has one, I don't myself but I'd say I'm somewhere between 14-16) and put people of similar ability together.

 

That way the good players aren't slowed down by the shit ones, and the shit ones don't feel intimidated by the good ones and it will make the day more enjoyable for everyone.

 

atk is paying the deposit next week, so anyone who's in really needs to get the deposit to us. If you can't pay by paypal, no problem. Just send me or atk a pm and we'll arrange it so you can pay by cheque or by giving me the money at the game on saturday.

Have I? I thought I was being really subtle. I've played golf since I was 11 so I'm okay but my concentration span sometimes wanes. I wouldn't class myself as awful but I'm not a regular golfer so my technique is rusty.

Good plan. Put me down for 36! Playing this weekend, so should get a better idea.

was well up for that then got letter off the hossy to get the metal pins out of my arm ,gutted.also had to pull out of another charity golf game the thursday before so now double gutted.to all those who are playing "may your balls drop with every putt and your wood be long".
