Twat, it's cold & wet here. The dog is fuming, keeps looking out the window and sighing. No chance I'm getting ill on his behalf he can wait.

I'm only here for a few days to sort some stuff out at my house. I've basically felt a bit ill for about five months just waking up every day and it being about seven degrees and raining or about minus three and not raining. Got here on Saturday night, went for a long walk on Sunday, 18/19 degrees, not a cloud in the sky. It's fucking medicine, mate.

Nah, it's where I live normally. I'm only back in the UK (near Cardiff) for two years (finishes in September) as my missus has a contract as a researcher at the University.

Cool , what do you do for a living out there, if you don't mind me asking?

When I first moved there six years ago I taught English as a second language, the route for most people to move to Spain for work. Now my job is a little different/better. I still teach a bit but more of my time is spent managing E-learning platforms. This stuff grew enormously at the start of the pandemic, everyone was home and wanted to sign up for courses in various things.

I was quite lucky with my timing as I managed to get residency and change my driving licence etc just before Brexit made everything a million times worse. We weren't so lucky sorting out coming back to the UK for these two years, as my Spanish girlfriend was essentially treated like a fucking criminal by our government.

We got battered by the storm in the West of Ireland. Our electricity has been off for almost 48 hours and there is another storm tonight, so that 48 hours will likely continue into tomorrow.

Our water was also off for nearly 24 hours but that has been fixed.

On the plus side, my kids are pretty good chess players now.

Lucky man , I read a few horror stories about Spaniards travelling in/out of the UK after Brexit, like the fucking guistapo.

I've been toying with the idea of an Irish passport as my grandparents were from Kilkenny. Not sure how easy it would be though as they've been dead for donkeys years.

Spain's fuckin ace

Do it if you can. Something for everyone here. Galicia, Córdoba and Tenerife could be three different countries. The variety in landscape, food, character of people, etc, is something else.

You'll earn less, but you'll live better. They still have a functioning health care system, school system, and transport system, and you'll be able to eat out twice a week if you want to.

Very tempting, unfortunately my wife can't attach herself to any Irish passport and , to be honest doesn't like me very much anyway!

Divorce her, then marry her again in Spain once you're officially Irish.

Or just divorce her!

Was talking via Messnger to a relative in Adelaide the other day I told him we were having a storm here , he lives a short walk from the beach and after he'd taken his  2 grand kids for a walk he sent me these 30 degrees as well

Lucky gets! The dog is loving life there!

I've just taken mine out and while it was windy it wasn't too bad apart from one random gust that nearly sent us both flying. Like a rogue wave it just battered us, he isn't a fan of the wind so immediately gave me them "get me home, give me my treat and let me get comfy" eyes.

Little fucker will still drag me out in it before bed so he can have a piss because he won't go in the garden.
