Neither of them could get within 3 yards of their players tonight and it was the same against Watford . I know Can's not getting rave reviews tonight but he was all over the pitch in the first half covering their lack of awareness.

 

I noticed that wijnaldum only seems to come alive after the hour and I'd be looking to bring him on after this time as can hopefully give us a kick on but at the minute we're playing with a 1 man midfield and this is why teams are getting at us so easily.

 

I'd start Milner & Grujic Saturday as they're the type who aren't afraid to get on the toes of the opposition and we could do with a couple of hungry players who want to be noticed and stay in the team on merit.

 

Therefore, I expect Woodburn to come in for Can on Saturday.

I don't see what he brings to the team at all, yes he's pretty decent in tight areas and he's quite athletic and strong but he's not a goal scoring midfielder nor is he creative enough and he doesn't act as a ball winner, he's basically invisible for 60mins per game and then as someone else has said, comes alive more as the game goes on some might say as the game gets a bit easier, like yesterday when we were the better team and on top it seemed he wanted the ball a bit more, say what you want about Emre Can but he never does this or hides, our problem is that Wijnaldum shouldn't play in the same midfield as Henderson as they both go hiding quite a bit and Henderson and Can shouldn't really be in the same midfield. I'd personally keep Wijnaldum as an all rounder backup and sell Henderson, Can is level in terms of ability with him now and has more potential to improve.
