Wound down your contract, assessed your options, benefitted from Bosman and, I’m sure, a multi-million signing bonus instead of the club receiving a fee. Definitely good enough to have a nice highlight reel, but I won’t be crying too much. Sign Meyer so we lose/gain a Bosman of similar quality, and Keita will be the one to significantly improve that midfield.

 

The slower game in Italy will suit Can and I expect him to do well, but I honestly could not say he starts in our best eleven if everyone is fit and well, and that’s before the summer window.

Sorry to lose a valuable young international for nothing but I'd be lying if I said i'll miss him a great deal as a footballer. Solid squad player, nothing more for me. The fact he's played so much football for us is a reflection on our lack of quality there, rather than him being top class.
