Not mad keen on Clichy. What's happened to our supposed "other" target, Cissokho?

I would love this guy but tbh I do not know, other than on here, that there has ever been any concrete interest in the club for him.

Totally agree with Bossy and CWD82.

Posts about him being like Insua - FFS. Take the blinders off. I would be quite happy with this at these terms.

I usually detest these transfer windows and our ridiculous last minute, panic signings, but this off season I'm fucking loving it.

I just have a feeling that King Kenny and Comoli are sitting back, feet up with big shit eating grins on their respective faces, watching all their chips falling into place.

I also reckon that some people within our club are purposely spreading misinformation to keep the press pack off the trail and to drive up the prices of some players whom we have absolutely zero genuine interest in anyway...then watch suckers like fat 'Arry desperately blow their budgets on a Red Herring.

There's no way Clichy would switch off with Carra in the back 4 or with Clarke coaching him.For 5mil it's a no brainer really,by all accounts we could be lining up with a 4-3-3 next season so our width will have to come from out wide,Johnson and Clichy are as good as any attacking full backs out there.

Like I said,for 5 million it's a great piece of business

5 million is the first bid....think he will go for around 10 million personally

Last year of his contract so no chance we'll pay 10mil,at a guess I'd say maximum would be 7 and that's top whack,Juventus will offer you 10mil but it'll be staggered over the next 15 years

Are you on drugs? Why on gods green earth would we double our bid?

because left back is the position where there's least good players available in this window. Think about it, how many good left backs can you think of right now thats buyable. There will be a bidding war for Clichy, cause despite his flaws, he's very experienced at the highest level and with his pace. i feel many manager feel they have alot to work with. i do think he will go for 8-10 million. I also think Comolli knowing him well will play a part

You're a bore.

Worry about nasri signing for united and holding on to a top 4 spot.

Clichy would be a very good signing, especially at that price. People should stop kidding themselves, there is a distinct lack of world-class left-backs in the world at the moment. It's probably the weakest position in terms of depth and quality. And, Clichy is as good as we could hope for. And, wasn't Comolli the one who spotted Clichy in the first place?

Of course he will be a big loss as he contributes with a lot of goals. when he and fabregas leaves, aside from van persie where are your goals going to come from?

Nasri has been with us 3 years, first 2 years he really didnt do anything and was known to be a coward in his way of playing, half of the time he passed back to Clichy.

This season he had three season where everything went for him, then since January he went back to his old self. He has had one assist all season in the league and something like 12 assists in 3 years. Despite his awesome ball control, he lacks vision and most importantly he lacks mental strength. of the front four rvp, walcott, nasri and fabregas. he would be the one most arsenal fans would let go first. our battle this season is to keep Cesc and hope he stays injury free. Strengthen the defence and the wings. Nasri wants to leave mainly because Wenger plays him on the left and he wants to play in the middle. Wenger has said even if Cesc isnt available, ramsey plays there. He wants to be a playmaker, but lacks vision and passing ability

So its a front two then, with no Clichy to pass back to on the left.

Sounds like its onwards and upwards for your lot.

Only 15 goals this season...he was one of your best players the start of this season.
