They don't.

But to be in that company, when you play half of your cricket in England opening the batting against the moving ball. I think it's incredibly impressive.

I heard Mike Atherton on radio in the preview point out that he's the only opener in the top 10. In fact, I think Gavaskar is the only other opener to have 10,000+ runs.

But it just makes the exclusion of Wood from the tour even more baffling for me, as he's one of the best reverse swing bowlers we have.  Add his pace, having Ball over him in the touring squad - baffles me.  I know he had a poor summer but he still offers more.

Wood can't stay fit. Fast and pretty skillful, but always injured.

To be fair - look at the majority of test grounds outside of England.

And that’s even on a weekend.

This is The Ashes though, I can understand there’s not the same interest with Sri Lanka and the current West Indies side. I reckon Lords would sell out no matter what for any Ashes day, even with a 90,000 capacity, and what the score was. I suppose the fact they’re not going to win this test match has had an impact.

Melbourne have a shit load of beaches mate, and although the weather is mediocre by their summer standards there are barbies to be held.

Imagine being stuck in a lift with Boycott? I'd have to strangle the cunt and face the consequences.

He’s a guilty pleasure for me.

But I can’t help but like the cantankerous old cunt.

I’d take him all day over Botham, who I can’t abide.

Each to their own mate, I can't stand the woman beating geriatric prick. Not keen on Botham either.

They nearly broke that lump hammer, that is how bad this pitch is.
