Purslow looks like someone who only goes to a wine bar to pick up girls but comes home every night empty and has a wank.

He looks nothing like me.

Elites? Fuck right off. I hate how this term is used as some kind of catch all by internet addled conspiracy loons. Who are the 'elite' in football? Clubs who have built their success over years? Clubs who embrace international supporters rather than actively shun them? Clubs who, dare I say it, have actually been successful? These fuckwits really do need to take a break from whichever social media site has filled their heads full of shite.

Remember when Everton were paying Ancelotti £12m a year and giving him a £2.5m bonus for keeping them up?. He was the third highest paid manager in the league despite them never qualifying for Europe. No way would he have ever gone there if they had offered him the same amount that Brentford pay Thomas Frank or Wolves pay Gary O Neill.

They've also paid his son a fortune for just putting a few cones out on a training pitch. They lashed £50m on Richy lar, £45m on Iwobi and £45m on Glyfi.

They also paid Hamez £250k a week for less hours than someone on maternity leave. How are Burnley, Bournemouth, Leeds, Leicester, Brentford, Luton and Sheffield Utd supposed to compete with that?. How come Everton weren't arsed about corruption then?

It’s absolutely amazing how blind they are when it comes to financial rules.

“Clubs should be allowed to spend what they want, otherwise it’s corruption!”.

Er, if your club hadn’t been spending more money laundered gangster cash than it could afford and had actually lived within its means, maybe you wouldn’t be in so much debt that you’re in real danger of going bust?

Also, the Villa figure quoted is, apparently, the figure without deductibles having been applied, and they are within acceptable losses for PSR.

Still, we shouldn’t let that get in the way of Everton sainthood.

Fucking Purslow.

Aston Villa might have to tighten their belts? Well, to be honest, they spent £99m net in 2020/21, £3m in 2021/22 (Grealish sale), £46m in 2022/23 and £80m in 2023/24. So they average around ~£60m net per season over a period where they've had virtually no European football to augment their revenue. If they don't have the income to support that kind of spending, why is it so awful that they don't get to keep going, mortgaging the future of the club by loaning against future income? They're not exactly operating on a shoestring, or have millions of club revenue sitting around uninvested.

They've got a good squad and they're in rude health on the pitch at the moment. Maybe they can't sign big this year but do they need to? Bit of squad work to cover European football absolutely, but in effect they've done their major work already - hence the fact that they're right at the PSR limit but succeeding on the pitch, and they'll be able to up their spending consistently if the last 4 years' work yields Champions League football. If anything they're an advert for PSR working well - even more so as there's no way they'd be sitting nicely in 4th if Beheddie's boys were allowed to unleash the full force of the state wealth behind them.  Instead they'd have all this debt from chasing the barcodes with no CL football to potentially pay for it, whilst the playthings of some despot rack up all sorts of debts with no consequence.

Genuinely makes no sense to me why anyone within football (outside of the usual goons working for states) would think this is such an awful idea - although I suspect it's largely like Everton's board: you get to project all of your fanbase's frustrations onto a third party, which gets you off the hook. "Ooh we'd love to spend, love to spend, but those pesky administrators, eh?"

Yep, not one of them accounts for the PLs responsibility to the sustainability of the sport in general either. Every time one of those clubs with a "strong balance sheet" as that American palace bell end put it, is allowed to buy success the market inflates and the margins further down the chain get slimmer.

Yeah lads, it's a closed shop. Twenty years ago we had a top two, ten years later it was a top four and now it's a top six. It's getting worse and it's impossible to compete (despite one of those six teams not currently being in the top six).

As the saying goes, if you can't beat them, wait and hope they get bored and leave... Nothing but the best!

Aren't they also called the Scab 6 as this is what supporters thought they were going to do.
