I find the reaction to Ings coming in strange as we are not exactly overloaded with good strikers, Milner yes as he is not going add much and if he's being brought in as a cm I would have liked a lot better from someone being brought in as a main man.

Also for those saying Rodgers can't sign a big name didn't he beat Klopp to Sahin in his first window even though Rodgers had not proved anything at a big club yet and Sahin had worked with Klopp before.

Ok, so Henry does the obvious thing and bins the transfer committee and employs TLW to do it instead. We have to have agreement on players in / out and have £30million to spend. What do we do? Who goes (realistically - you need someone gullible and it looks like fat Sam won't be there) and who comes in?

Transfer Bingo 2015

"Can't believe we bought - insert average overpriced Premier League name here - Mikhail Gorbachevyarmolanka was available for 4m from the Ukranian second division and he's fucking we'll better, I know cos I've watched him about 30 times, bet our scouts don't even know he exists"

Transfer bingo 2015:

"If we sign [insert recently hyped up young 'wonderkid'] we'll be sorted for the next 10 years."

It ignores the fact that the vast majority of our signings are usually either shit from the get-go, turn to shit within 3 years or are so good and ambitious they want to get the fuck out after 3 years, because they've got fed up of playing alongside those that were shit from the get-go or turned to shit within 3 years. Other than Carra and Stevie who came up through the youth ranks, we've only had one signing who stayed here for so long, and since nobody had even heard of him, nobody suggested at the time that we'd be sorted in the centre back position for 10 years.

Get rid of Jones, Johnson, Enrique, Toure, Lovren, Borini, Balotelli, Aspas, Alberto, and Lambert.

Leaves us with Mignolet, Sakho, Moreno, Manquillo, Skrtel, Flanagan, Coates, Ilori, Wisdom, Coutinho, Henderson, Lallana, Lucas, Allen, Can, Sterling, Sturridge, Ibe, Markovic, Origi.

Spend the £30m plus anything from the players we've binned on a striker, and a midfielder that can defend. Plus £3 on a better keeper than Jones.

Play four at the back all season.

Impressed that when scooping the dregs from the barrel with your fingernails ceased to harvest any, you were committed enough to start gnawing it off with your teeth.

How quick are these players? We need pace up front.

I want some quick Pacey forwards maybe one who could pull wide. Movement finishing and pace would be my main requirements. I'd also Play a diamond which switches to 433 or 4231 if needs be.

Lovren has improved lately. I'd give him another season. If he doesn't get to the level required, we'd still have Skrtel Sakho Illori and Can that can play CB. Neither Wisdom nor Coates are good enough and the full backs on both sides need to be improved upon.

Totally agree with the sub keeper, CM and forward though. Given its entirely conceivable that the young players will improve, I believe that while losing the 12 league goals from Stevie, Balotelli, Lambert and Borini, we should expect at least 25 goals next season from Sturridge Origi and AN Other (inc. Pens) which all but guarantees a CL spot.
