this is only because of the situation the club are in i like many people on here would like to see a much higher standard of player bought if the funds were avaliable

I think Konchesky will be okay. He might even surprise a few people by being better than we thought. I don't think he'll be a Steve Finnan though, and I definitely think we could have done better. I will also be interestind to see what the fee is for a player with no resale value and two decent reserves going the other way...

He's English and a solid option for a couple of years, or at the very least until we are in a decent financial state. Considering who else we've been linked with, i'd take Konchesky happily

No. I find it amazing how many rate him, his name was never mentioned by anyone before the world cup. By all accounts he's been very ordinary at club level. At least we know what we're getting with konchesky and more importantly the manager does.

I think it was the 06/07 season where we played played them in the group stages and quaters of the champions league that i was impressed by him as well as the world cup but i certainly haven't seen enough of him to advocate signing

Konchesky on the left will be an improvement on Agger, nothing spectacular, but solid. Just like I suspect we will be this season, in fact.

Yeah Skrtel was an absolute liability today. Pulling shirts and grabbing player's arms. He does it a lot though and never learns.

Reasonable signing if you support Bolton. May well be that this is the best we can get hold of, but then that's also were we are heading. Just agreed a bet with a mate that we'll finish outside the top 8.:(
