Sad news indeed. As somebody who knows nothing about modern Athletics that story about his rise to fame just sounds a bit off to me. Maybe it's just the way the article was written but it just seems too good to be true.

Dont listen to the radio, so know idea who he is. To this day though, every time i see him on the BBC website, it takes me a few moments to realise he isnt Steven Segal.

I have a very familiar story. Used to go to my uncle's work in the school holidays to help out and he always had Steve Wright on.

I never listened to Steve Wright on Radio 2 but he was an 80s afternoon radio staple back then. What did he die from? It seemed sudden from the headlines.
