Crystal Palace have a similar income but have lived within their means, they buy the odd expense player every now and again

For example, when they paid handsomely to take Benteke off our hands, it was only because some schmucks had given them a fortune for Bolasie.

Yep, I can't recall them ever really spending a lot of money on one player in the last few years. They normally have to go for players like that Michael Olise and Eze with the odd player from Europe under the 20m mark.

I popped onto GoT earlier. It's brilliant. They're all posting "don't click on the mail link, it's just clickbait, it's been debunked". Apparently the debunking is that Twitter post from The Esk. Give it a week, they'll be back to slapping money on the table and looking forward to winning the transfer window.

They nd the majority of Everton Twitter normally hate the Esk saying he's a negatively twat and that he makes things up as he goes along. But this time they believe him.

I still suspect that they'll find three teams worse than them this year, but then have to sell anyone they can find a buyer for. Even without a points deduction, next year would be The One; with a points deduction it just becomes a 38-week funeral march.

It’s difficult to pick for me. A points deduction for next season would be prolonged agony and plenty of opportunity for taking the piss like they would no doubt do to us if the roles were reversed (like our time under H&G) but it gives them a small chance of survival as well as a chance to prepare for the fall by getting big earners away and tightening of belts.

A points deduction this year would certainly relegate them and potentially destroy them.

That would be terrible.

Over the same 3 year period, Crystal Palace have made a profit of about £30 million on transfers. The sale of Wan Bissaka more than covered any players they signed.

Just to point out, there's absolutely no reason why a points deduction has to be made before this season ends to confirm the shite's relegation. The PL can apply a points deduction any time before fixtures for the PL and EFL Championship next season are issued.

The shite could finish anywhere in the PL outside the bottom 3 and the PL  apply a points deduction after all games have been played.

Im pretty sure the shite could finish 10 points above the relegation zone but if hit by a 12 point deduction, that would push them down and one of the 3 'relegated' clubs out of the bottom 3 with a reprieve.

Exactly. I remember around the time Gillette and Hicks were our owners and all the smug Evertonians were saying you shouldn't live beyond your means and laughing at how they were wrecking the Club and crippling it with the interest payments. They also sneered at us for protesting instead of just sitting there being all passive.

Loads of them wanted us to be wrapped up and were rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect if it happening.

I can remember the posts on Twitter at the time. Now it's turned full circle and I'm enjoying watching the sad wretches shitting bricks. Even in our shittest PL years, we never finished lower than 8th.

Happened to Wigan in the Championship a few years back.

Something in the Telegraph today that very few of their players are on relegation- proof contracts, so big trouble if they did go down. Not about Everton, I know, but the same paper this week suggested that Ronaldo is on 700,000 + a week. Surely not even the Mancs are that daft?

The Premierleague wont do shit they would rather face legal action from clubs who suffer due to Everton cheating. City and Chelsea are the ultimate cheats they've been applauded.

City and Chelsea were a good advert for their 'brand'.

The Ev not so much

In a perfect world they get relegated under their own steam this season and are hit by a points deduction next season followed up by them being unable to balance the books in the championship with the football league following that up with another points deduction the season after.

The new stadium lies incomplete and is never finished. A fitting tribute to their success.

They end up ground sharing with Tranmere in League One. Their fans routinely singing about we're only supported by out of town wools.
