A German manager, the way forward?

Could it be that the German league is not that strong this season? They conceded 7 in 6 games in the Champions League.

Seeing they have two teams in the semi finals of the CL I dont really think so.

They have conceded 13 goals in 29 games now though.

We did not get everything right last season, but we experienced things totally out of the managers control we have not been close to seeing this season.

The injury to Gerrard, Suarez racism case, our ability to hit the posts/bars and the fact we could not buy a penalty goal.

The things we experinced last season would not happen again this season, the law of averages would take care of that.

This season we mainly struggle because we are wide open at the back because of our set up, teams simply run through us like a warm knife in soft butter.

The naivity on display is staggering but its no surprise as every team Rodgers have taken control of have conceded more goals than before he took charge.

Why do people think that is?

Interesting argument you have there, Code. Rather strange.

2012:

Pl 33, F:40 A:36 GD:+5

2013:

Pl 33 F:59 A:40 GD: +19

4 more goals conceded this year compared to last, with a +19 goals scored record, despite having only one striker for half the season. Liverpool are a better team than last year, there's no denying it.

We are a worse team.

After 33 games last season Gerrard had scored 3 goals and Suarez 8, so far this season they have scored 9 and 22.

So thats 27,5% of our goals at this stage last season and 52,4% this season.

We have obviously improved massively as a team.

I added more.

Um OK.

Take United who will win the league this year by a stretch.

By fixture 32 Rooney, Berbatov and Hernandez had chalked up 39 out of their 78 goals, thats 50%

This season at 32 games

Rooney, Van Persie and Hernandez have 40 out of 73. 55%

Now I could use your theory and say that United must be a worse team this year but really all I need to say is this type of banal statistics don't mean anything.

Must do better.

Seriously, how can anyone take this guy seriously?

I mean, seriously.

The straight-shooting German manager has all the traits to bring the joy of football back to Liverpool fans

“Ever watched a porn movie?” the interviewer asked.

“Yes,” Jürgen Klopp replied immediately.

The name of the porn movie Klopp watched, when he was about 15 or 16, was Josefine Mutzenbacher: wie sie wirklich war (Josefine Mutzenbacher: how she really was). The film traces the sexual awakening of a young Austrian girl in the 19th century, from an innocent child to a high‑class Viennese prostitute. “I don’t remember the plot,” Klopp admitted, “but it got right down to business
