If anyone is interested in the antigen testing a quick listen here. Cheap tests for all that are widely available.

    Coronavirus

Not sure if this has been posted but definantly worth taking your time to read. Covers backward tracing, antigen testing superspreaders and overdispersion. A snippet. It’s not always the restrictiveness of the rules, but whether they target the right dangers. As Morris put it, “Japan’s commitment to ‘cluster-busting’ allowed it to achieve impressive mitigation with judiciously chosen restrictions. Countries that have ignored super-spreading have risked getting the worst of both worlds: burdensome restrictions that fail to achieve substantial mitigation. The U.K.’s recent decision to limit outdoor gatherings to six people while allowing pubs and bars to remain open is just one of many such examples.” Could we get back to a much more normal life by focusing on limiting the conditions for super-spreading events, aggressively engaging in cluster-busting, and deploying cheap, rapid mass tests—that is, once we get our case numbers down to low enough numbers to carry out such a strategy? (Many places with low community transmission could start immediately.) Once we look for and see the forest, it becomes easier to find our way out https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/09/k-overlooked-variable-driving-pandemic/616548/

I think the Northern Research Group is doing as much research as the ERG. Probably amounts to wanking over some northern lady whilst calling her mummy.

    Freedom of speech

Another point that hasn't been made is how quick those who consider themselves as Law and Order champions are quick to throw the police under the bus when it suits their agenda. The normal spiel we get is "if you haven't done anything wrong etc".

    Donald Trump

I'd love to see Trump in jail but history suggest those who are connected and powerful rarely receive punishment. Wouldn't the Republican party be dragged into any complicity and that's before we get into setting a precedent for an American President being punished. I mean we know Ford pardoned Nixon after Watergate is that where this is whole alternative version of events is coming from.

    Keir Starmer

Last I saw around twelve months ago she was a carer or something related. In a 2018 article in Buzzfeed it was reported her husband has Fibromyalgia and the below is from the end of last year. Are we doing the stick of people with disabilities have to suffice on bread and water and just exist etc. I know there was a thing a while back where people said she was a man.

    Freedom of speech

This is one of those stories that doesn't exist but is a well paying line for the grifters to fawn outrage, write a few articles and appear on the telly crowdfund and eventually audience members get very shouty on BBCQT. It seems to be standard procedure for the police to investigate when a complaint has been made.

Latest YouGov has the Greens polling higher than the Lib Dems.

Should the UK remain a member of the EU

Some of the stuff i saw came across as QAnon for remaniacs at times. There is a story there but in this case it looks like it was basic data mining. Shame there was such a focus on this story and not some of the misinformation the tabloids pumped out.

    Donald Trump

The Michigan attempt to kidnap the governor is pretty fucked up. Sounds like the equivalent of someone trying to kidnap Andy Burnham or Sadiq Khan and also wanting to kill the Met Police. Then when Johnson finds out he goes on a rant against Burnham/Khan. Although some members of the "Wolverine Watchmen" were anti government and their is a clip of one calling Trump a tyrant. Their aim seems to have been to create a self sufficent community following the U.S Bill Of Rights.

    Coronavirus

I know Italy gave everybody who worked in schools including cleaners covid tests prior to the new term starting. I was surprised they didn't do something at least for secondary schools here. If you are a mature teacher in a secondary schools who has a few extra pounds i can imagine it is a worrying time being in a classroom with 30 odd kids.

There was a lot of talk on here about this in the past. No evidence found.

They seem competent enough to make sure all their mates get the contracts. They seem competent enough to take us out of the EU etc etc. They seem competent enough to get the things they want. I don't think we should let them off with being incompetent they are behaving like oligarchs. We will have to agree to disagree on the PLP and outsourcing.

    Keir Starmer

Fair enough. The establishment know Starmer is "sound" as I doubt you get to be head of the CPS if you are a loose cannon. So he will be cut more slack than most even more reason for him not to be cautious. Until they are ready to turn and he will be the lefty lawyer etc. The government isn't failing to manage the pandemic because it is a poor manager it is because they are corrupt and we have outsourced everything. Problem is half of the PLP think outsourcing anything and everything is a good model and Labour are just left pointing to we have a better manager who is better at HR.

I have no problems with media outlets Canary etc being held to account for their output. I'm pretty sure it isn't a good business model to trash the newly elected leader. However it seems that there has been one hashtag type event and people are inferring this equates to comparative shit to what Corbyn got - i would say that is a massive exaggeration. I actually think it is more of the new Labour leadership know it helps them to punch left to get a bit of good publicity in the short-term. It's why the Starmerout tags would have been welcomed by the leadership. It's why they know bogeymen like McClusky are lapped up and the militant left etc. Put it this way there is a motive to punch left but I would say it is punching down and I find that cowardly especially when most are just regular citizens and it creates long term problems. I would rather they stop abstaining and make their arguments and shape the narrative.

Both main parties are talking up their Green credentials. Green policies are in the news daily even British treasure David Attenborough is claiming capitalism is killing us... Genuinely surprised people can't see the scope for many more votes to head to the Greens. Most of us who vote Labour are fed up and do it through gritted teeth right?. Remember this is a Liverpool forum the majority of us who are from Liverpool or have links to the area have a greater hatred of the Tories and see anyonelse as cock blocking but the rest of the country isn't like that.

Maybe i have missed something I had twins in June. Starmer isn't getting abuse or calls to stand down rightly from MPs. Not sure what people are getting defensive of. We seem to be holding members of the public to more scrutiny than our politicians sadly.

There are many local elections before the General Elections. If the Greens could get a good showing who knows eh.

Should the UK remain a member of the EU

Anyone gonna tell these useful idiots that the majority of all the remainer politicians who vowed to fight like the Japanese soldier who fought on for 29 years, were just playing politics to stop a socialist government. The "Keir is acting as a Brexit social woker made me laugh"

Maybe Labour voters moving to the Greens (if enough) go could have a similar impact to former Tory voters voting UKIP who moved the Tories right. The present Labour leadership think there is nobody to the left of them they could vote for.
  24. Denny Crane

    Keir Starmer

I think you will be the first of many who move from Labour to the Greens. They should probably have their own thread especially as they will be more relevant and will replace the Lib Dems as the 3rd party maybe not in seats but in vote share at the next election.

    Donald Trump

WASHINGTON—Expressing frustration that the president was able to attain what he himself never had, former National Security Advisor John Bolton was reportedly seething with jealousy Tuesday that President Trump got to become a real-life living, breathing biological weapon. “If only I had stayed in the administration, I could’ve been the one to get infected with a deadly virus capable of defeating all of America’s enemies,” said Bolton, growing increasingly incensed that the president had so easily stumbled into such an efficient method of viral warfare. “It’s particularly galling because Donald Trump is totally wasting this golden opportunity just hanging out in the White House when he could bring Iran to its knees with one indoor face-to-face with Rouhani. The president has a moral imperative to fight for American interests by coughing repeatedly in the face of Kim Jong-un or at the very least wandering through a crowded North Korean market to infect as many civilians as possible.” At press time, a desperate Bolton was reportedly rubbing used hospital scrubs against his face and inhaling deeply while booking a flight to Tehran.
