Brilliant.

The football might not be as consistently good as our peak performances over 2019 & 2020, the fighting spirit and balls within 2.0 have been there since day one.

It wasn't pretty for long spells, but as we grew into the game more, we were offering just about enough to suggest that this wasn't going to be a simple smash-and-grab job. I don't think our goal led a charmed life to anywhere near the extent the commentators were trying to suggest, as a lot of Arsenal's attempts didn't get as far as actually threatening the goal. We can thank Havertz for that as he took an absolute age every time he got within striking distance.

Odegaard showed dissent at least half a dozen times and was let off my the ref being lenient. Harvey showed his frustrations just once, and got carded for it. Where is the consistency. On top of that, the ref did that thing so many of hem do by keeping their cards in their pocket for 75 minutes, and then booking anything and everything thereafter. Often that sees a player who hasn't been on the pitch for long collecting a booking for a minor infringement that some of the starting players have got away with time and again.

Cody was too deep in the first half and Harvey was too wide, and because both were in positions where they are less effective, we struggled for out-balls to cope with the intensity of Arsenal's pressing. Switching it up in the second half to have Harvey a little deeper and Cody up top meant we could start pushing up higher and counter-pressing. Tactically it meant we also had more space to work in when we got possession.

Nice for Lucho to have a better memory of playing at the Emirates. Last time he was there, he got that serious injury, since which he hasn't quite had that explosiveness to his game. Also nice for us to be able to see if he can be a viable outlet on the right in Mo's absence.

I get why Arsenal chose to wear all white for this game (they've done the same for the past few years as part of a campaign to highlight London's appalling knife crime stats amongst young people), but they could have made sure shirt numbers were more visible.

Into the 4th round we go.

A good day for LFC, a sad one for BBC Sport, a tragic one for Shearer. Serves Arsenal right for wearing toilet paper instead of their proper kit, and then shitting it. If only Konate can get fit and stay fit he's a world class defender.

Graham Potter or whomever the ref actually was just epitomised why PL refs don't deserve any respect. He ignores every act of GBH by Arsenal pretty much the whole match - thus causing huge frustration - and ignores blatant key fouls such as on Gomez in our area - ditto - then, when players are tired and driven crazy by his insane behaviour, he started booking pretty much anyone who doesn't try to kiss him for his decisions. It's no good the PGMOL searching for an incident to 'prove' the world will implode unless all refs are given a cake after the games - these people are shockingly awful, and do not deserve great respect.

I think he’s actually quite fit right now
