I want us to keep Shaqiri. Still think he can be a useful player for us. looked sharp around the pitch tonight

Dunno about anybody else but since we signed Jota and Thiago we seem to have shaken off that lethargy we had. Everyone is playing with a spring in their step all of a sudden.

You can debate this in circles forever. Lets all come back to this thread this time in next year or 2022 and see where we are at. i reckon you might all be surprised (or not).

Chilling isn't it. Its a form of conditioning over time. You get to a point where you feel grateful to just be able to take a walk in the local park.

If i were in my 70s/80s I don't think Id want to cut off myself from my family and grandkids, i'd rather risk it. We've already lost two people during these restrictions (not through covid) both of whom ended up being a bit cut off. Thankfully my mum got to see her sister during the lull in restrictions. Funeral was horrible though, utterly rank. Masks, hardly anyone was allowed in the church, just felt completely abnormal.

Our house backs on to playing fields. Theres a match going on out there now and its good to see. Never thought I'd appreciate being able to see some normal life outside of the window.

Well you've brought it up several times now including in the football forum. Im not an anti-vaxxer. What i am though, is a cynical bastard, and all these top 'scientists' are all in league. The ones that aren't and try to keep subjective are the ones who either get ignored, smeared or shut down. What I do know though, is people genuinely have the outlook that these people are 'whiter than white' and 'they do things in the publics best interest and that the scientists care'. Unfortunately in the world of big pharma, they care not a jot unless they are making big money or being funded. 5g? No one really knows what the effect of it is. For years theres been conflicting consensus on the damage mobiles can do to us, and the possibility of causing cancer. But even if they did find the links, would they give this information out? Again Mr Cynical here understands what a multi billion market the mobile and cellular industry makes every year through handsets and services and what kind of threat that could make for them.

Got a real bee in your bonnet haven't you fella? As I've said we will see where this goes but its all moving on as many thought it might.

Im with you on the organisation bit yeah. Im all for control, but lets be honest this is nothing to do with The Government just being buffoons, they know exactly what they are doing. The amount of people I've heard say 'this just make any sense' are right on the money. The only way it does make sense as if there is something else going on the public isn't fully aware of.

Oh do fuck off Scott. Its got nothing to do with conspiracy. You just advocated yourself for a track and trace in order to go into a shop or to allow shops to sell. "You'll be telling me next any vaccine will have microscopic microchips in them, which when activated, turn us all into subservient, emotionless slaves." Yep completely bellendry there. You don't see the frightening consequences of this? For your family? I'd suggest you go and read up on this https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/post2015/transformingourworld

Theres either two factors at play here or both now. 1) Either parts of SAGE are cosy in bed with Mr Gates/WHO and the rollout of a vaccine will make oodles of cash at the cost of long term devastation to the global economy or 2) Theres a narrative, as Scott posted above, where in order to move anywhere freely, both in the UK or abroad requires mandatory vaccination, which is then ratified by app scanning. Want to go to Anfield to see the reds? Vaccinated? No? Sorry you can't come into a ground with 54,000 people. Want to go on a holiday to Spain? Vaccinated? No? Sorry we can't permit you to travel. And on and on and on. If that takes hold Lord knows where it will end. Shops? Parks? Workplace? They have already been trialling it in certain parts of Japan with the workplace and my own workplace where going to introduce it this year in minimal form. A more scarier scenario than any virus.

Totally agree. This bullshit has to end. The mainstream media also need the book throwing at them after this, for their disgraceful fear mongering. My mother has only just begun to take tentative steps to get on with her life now she's back to square one. The anger i feel is off the charts.

    Other football - 2020/21

City have a back four of Walker, Stones, Ake and Mendy. let that sink in for a moment.

Yup this. I'm glad they are reinforcing the team. Actually relieved is more the word I would use. I just about accepted last years approach to the window, but the way the local journals where peddling this new narrative this summer caused me to lose my rag. Thankfully they were badly wrong. Thiago is a game changer. I had us down for top three this season but now I reckon we can retain it. He's so so good, that now, if a team somehow finds a way to stop our flank attacks we have this guy in the middle. Add in Jota and Minaminos work rate between the lines and we are golden I reckon. Lots of options, lots of ways to play, and decent depth. Would like a CB, but at least with Thiago, Fabinho is a sensible 4th choice fall back. Glad we kept Gini too. lets hope he gets and extension. So kudos to the owners for releasing funds whether we recoup or not. I still don't like them, they are not representative of our values anymore than oil owners, but this is the state of football today. As long as the manager is backed on the pitch, i will overlook everything else. Now watch us sell Mane on the last day of the window!!!

Nice to see Jurgen getting the players in he needs, even if we do have to flog potential future talent. Does Hoever have a buy back?

    Thiago Alcantara

He definitely pushes us up a notch or two. Now lets get the stingy defence back that we once had.
