Liverpool Vs Brentford - Saturday 6 May at 17.30

Never looked in danger. Dealt with Brentford comfortably. They had no shots on target. All high balls into the area dealt with.  The only danger was Taylor.

I knew I’d seen that Brentford keeper, Raya, on YouTube.

Extremely impressive result that, concidering we were up against such a powerful opponent. Taylor completely killed off any momentum we could have gained, and created chance after chance for them. You very rarely see one individual being so dominant in a game at this level.

This meant not many of our players managed to play that well, but I thought Jones and Gakpo were decent, and Salah played well in the first 30.

Very happy getting three points from this!

Even more impressive considering his age.

Thought we looked good the first half hour, but Taylor let Brentford into the game by allowing them to stop any flow we had by spending ages on every free kick or throw in. Pretty certain they spent more time on each dead ball than Allison, who got a yellow by spending some 20 seconds once. I don’t think we can blame our midfield for this one, just have to accept that Brentford is a pain in the ass to play against, especially when they have a twelfth man, as they did today.
