Summer 2023 Transfer Thread

Putting his ability aside, I'd be suprised if Klopp took Kalvin Phillips - unless it was permanent. He has had an issue with more than one coach about his weight -  he would be a loan player who we rehabilitate for another club. What message does it send to players on a permanent contract, who do everything right then allow a player who is deemed a bad trainer to jump the queue.

Wanking material for Stig....

Disappointed he's gone there. He's doing himself a disservice, he's at the very least a top level Championship centre half. Sad to see he's playing semi-pro standard.

7 hours left of the transfer window.

Our only chance to add to the squad is a mediocre 4th choice midfielder at Bayern. No RB or CB in sigth.

The Grav-transfer even depend on a domino-effect including incoming transfers at Fulham and Bayern. In other words; we have put ourselves in a situation where - if we really want the player - the transfer depends on circumstances totally out of our control.

Incompetent clowns.

I think it closes at 9pm tonight?

I've got a hunch that Bayern's motives in their willingness to sell us Gravenberch aren't what is going to make sense for us. They think they will get silly PL money for him, £50m or so and enough for them to then bring in Palhinha.

I'm predicting this being a lot of hot air ultimately for Paul Joyce to then say that FSG tried.

He'll be playing in the Champions League, which is more than can be said for us.

So we’re bringing in Philips so he can sit in Klopp’s tactical meetings wearing a miniature camera that transmits live back to Baldy’s laptop?

We ordered a load of P's, I's and L's for the club shop then sent Nat to Celtic, we'll never shift them unless we bring in another Phillips and Kevin has retired.

Phillips would be an acceptable punt had we not spent 15m on a 30 year old. We could have it be a not very costly short term solution to the position with a league proven player, albeit his last season being terrible. Now it would just look unnecessary. Can't see it being true.

For whatever reason* they've had The Clampits players doing ads about Tokyo subcultures, in the most obnoxious, superficial corporate way possible obviously.

Anyhows they got Phillips to do 'Tokyo Barbering subculture' or the barbers as anyone not in the marketing circle jerk would call it.

Yes, Phillips, he above with the worst haircut in the league, the goon, they got him to highlight the Tokyo 'Barberscene'

Wild!

Worth watching for the absurdity of it.

*cash, lots of cash.
