  1. A better appointment when acknowledged that he looks like Pepe Reina rather than acknowledging that he looks like Ten Hag.
  2. This has to be a publicity stunt. Nike really only care about profit and sales. I wouldn't of paid much notice that a new England kit had been released without this furore now everyone is talking about it. Even their 2nd tweet of the launch had this 3cm sized detail on the back of the collar with the quote 'A playful update to the of St. George appears on the collar to unite and inspire' They knew what they were doing and knew it would generate a huge amount of engagement and flagshagger piss boiling. They do say their is no such thing as bad publicity.
  3. Looks like a #9 but not in the big lumbering sense
  4. Harvey Elliot is 5'7" and 20. I speak no more.
  5. The end of contract injury. Happens often, I only remember Emre Can who was ever honest about it. Get injured at this stage and he'll struggle to find another club come summer. He won't be playing for us again.
  6. I remember Suarez hitting the woodwork an obscene amount of times when he first joined. It then clicked and the rest is history. When Darwin consistently turns these shots into goals he will become one hell of a player.
  7. Mature finish by Jones. Business as usual and doesn't look like a youngster who has scored for his boyhood club.
  8. I actually felt concerned last season that they were beginning to get on the right track with a some what successful manager who didn't necessarily seem that his best days are behind him like Mourinho or LVG. Each manager is set up for a loss, it doesn't matter how much they spend, the fans think the owners are not investing. Then after the fans, Neville and co complain about not enough money being invested, the manager then gets a tonne more money to buy on players thinking they can buy success. There are few teams that can buy ready-made world class players. Man U think they are but as such they end up paying the fees, the wages and the length of contract that world class players command. This keeps their fans happy until they find out that their signings aren't world class but it becomes rinse and repeat with owners apparently not spending enough, so they spend another tonne on players who aren't good enough. I genuinely think they would have had their biggest protest yet if they were in our position and signed Endo however that is a huge difference between the clubs transfer policy. Right now that transfer looks like a shrewd move, a show we can't be bullied for silly fees and looks to be a good enough stop gap, potentially really good signing. Man U would either sign a player for silly fees as the fans demand it or miss out in which the manager gets credit for working to a stringent budget.
  9. Just imagine fucking up that bad and then not even reviewing the Gomez penalty shout 4 minutes later.
  10. VAR should be used to get the correct decision. The PGMOL use it as a tool to back their onfield mates. Darren England was so quick and eager to say his mate has got the decision right he's completely missed what the onfield decision was. He's lost complete purpose of getting the correct decision. As for being too late to call it back is pure nonsense. This was what VAR was brought for to retrospectively review.
  11. Neville agreed with the VAR finding at the time said it was offside.
  12. It is a complete conflict of interest for referees to go to UAE or Saudi leagues to referee when these two countries own premier league clubs. It looks like a bung, lucrative employment opportunity in exchange for favourable refereeing.
  13. Henderson was willing to stay and fight for his place when Rodgers tried replacing him to bring in Clint Dempsey. Not willing to now. I'd argue he could have expected more of a fair crack of the whip now than back then, partly because of previous accolades and standing as captain. He knows he is on the decline. He's decided his England possibilities are at least equal to being a bit-part player here or playing in Saudi. It's all a bit meh really to me but he's missed out on being an adopted scouser Liverpool FC legend. Maybe we should have foreseen his level of loyalty by ditching Sunderland in the first place. He could have taken over the Milner role and could have been successful in that role and left as a legend with hopefully a few more trophies. No achievement in Saudi can compare to what I hope he could still won here. He either doesn't think it that will happen here or the money was too good to turn down. His time should have ended with our thanks for the effort, captaincy and trophies. All very sad for his legacy that we are just thankful that his wages off the books and with a little money to reinvest but that's how he has decided to go out.
  14. The longest way to say he knows his legs have gone without admitting that his legs have gone. Be interesting if he'd accept a testimonial at anfield with all proceeds going to rainbow laces campaign.
  15. All very Hodgson-esque digging out his players so publicly. Ten Hag is falling into the trap that many of his predecessors also fell into by spending a lot of money for players that are overpriced and also not good enough. While he can hide behind scapegoats such as Sancho and Maguire for now, once his own signings are at the forefront of the fans anger then Ten Hag will be finding his own position questioned. I think they have had their best season they will ever have with him last year where he was fresh and the feeling around the place would have been positive.
  16. Smaller teams always forget how playing in Europe really impacts PL performances. They wanted champions league, they got it so they shouldn't complain. I think Eddie Howe will be found out this season for being the time wasting bastards they were last year. Go out the champions league in the group stages and perform poorly in the league. At least that is what I hope.
  17. As far as defence goes, I can't see us being in the right position to move. Both Matip and Gomez will be here for the season. As the midfield was last season, I think we have to move players out from the wage bill to bring in anyone new.
  18. Bayern signed him with a single year left on his contract. Looking at his appearances last season he was behind Kimmich, Goretzka and Musiala. I think that's understandable for a young player. Any of our new midfield would have struggled to get games before them three last season.
  19. I've got a hunch that Bayern's motives in their willingness to sell us Gravenberch aren't what is going to make sense for us. They think they will get silly PL money for him, £50m or so and enough for them to then bring in Palhinha. I'm predicting this being a lot of hot air ultimately for Paul Joyce to then say that FSG tried.
  20. Scoped out what Bristol Rovers fans views were. General consensus was he was liable for a mistake in each game but will ultimately play at a level higher than they are in.
  21. Not sure we have ever been fucking Phillips over, its like he's won a competition to be part of the squad.
  22. It seems that often opinions of our players are decided by that of rival fans and even worse is that they are then taken as gospel truth. The general consensus from neutral fans has been that Darwin is an Andy Carroll style flop that can't finish. The stats are clear that he has been a 1 goal in 3 game scorer. Not a shoddy return for young player in their first season settling in and it is encouraging that he could of had more considering the positions he was in at times. The other opinion I found was that he was seen as a red card waiting to happen and that he had some attitude issue. This narrative was allowed to gain momentum after his red card and ban following Crystal Palace last year where Joachim Andersen went down like an ironing board. A similar situation occurring at this seasons opener v Chelsea with Enzo Fernandez and Jota, except Jota didn't go down and somehow got booked for it. Again the stats are clear, this time since that suspension Darwin received just a single yellow in throughout the rest of last season. Liverpool fans simply should not be fooled into believing this nonsense peddled by fans of other clubs desperate for our high-value signing to fail.
  23. All these players linked but nothing else. It seems these rumours are being leaked by the club while they have no intention of signing anyone. It will keep the fans quiet until the transfer window is closed.
