You'd imagine it'd be in his contract that they shouldn't be skiing, or doing something equally as dumb mid-season.

Being club world champion is a glorious idea. All the previous formats of the competition have failed to give this title the prestige it deserves.  This 32-teams format will also fail.

 

In order for this to work the whole structure of club football around the world needs to be revamped. How do teams qualify for this? How can you have a qualification cycle every year? Club football cannot be based on 4-year cycles like international football.

 

Stick to international football FIFA.

The Melbourne derby in the A League. There were protests across the league this week apparently to do with a decision by the league to sell off the rights to stage the grand final to Sydney for the next 3 seasons, or something. That already raised tensions. 
 

Melbourne Victory fans chucked flares onto the pitch near to the Melbourne City goalkeeper. He then chucked them back into the crowd. The following then occurred.

Obviously no excuses for attacking the lad, but throwing flares back into the crowd appears a bit provocative.
