Jones and King on it too. Looks like this one will happen.

Can be a quality signing as a back-up, underwhelming as a Coutinho/Fekir replacement. Hopefully, it is the former as has been widely reported and we do not change our tune if we fail to revive the Fekir deal or find a proper alternative.

…BUT WIJNALDUM COULD LEAVE

More Liverpool news now, and the claim that Georginio Wijnaldum could leave Anfield this summer. Turkish outlet A Spor say that he might be joining Fenerbahce. Given that the Turkish media also said that Jack Wilshere to Fenerbahce was a done deal, we’re not entirely convinced yet.

That said, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Wijnaldum left, despite his decent form last season. Jurgen Klopp now has Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Naby Keita, Fabinho, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana, who are all capable of playing in that midfield three. If Henderson, Keita and Fabinho are the likely starters, that leaves an awful lot of talent on the bench

Happy with Shaqiri as back up to our forwards.

I would like to bin Ings, Sturridge, Origi and Solanke and get a striker in.  What are they on? 250k a week between them?

Klopp seems to be actively trying to fix our problems.

Hopefully the Coutinho replacement and a keeper will follow soon.

Then a VVD partner and some lb cover and it could be the perfect summer.  I don't think he will add to the defence though.

I think we should keep Gini as Ox and Lallana are never fit plus Henderson is going to be shattered.

Gini's song is amazing and still isn't out of my head, I don't think my eyes have recovered from the brightness of the screen in the bierkeller either.

Leaving aside the tedium of net spend arguments, keeping our best players and adding Keita, Fabinho and Shaqiri makes a side that reached the European Cup Final significantly stronger again.

I reckon we'll be back in for Fekir, though I'd rather see us focus on fixing the glaring problem that's well addressed in the Loris Karius thread.

Was Yarmolenko the one we were trying to buy when Ian Ayre was stuck in a hotel room in Kiev, flicking between CNN and porn and bingeing on tiny Toblerones and tubes of Pringles?

Nope, he was one of the many players we briefed the local journos on and never bid for though.
