ASENSIO TO PUSH FOR LIVERPOOL DEAL?

It is clearly nonsense but what lovely, lovely nonsense. According to reports in Spain, Marco Asensio has told Real Madrid he wants out of the club if they sign Neymar. He started just 19 La Liga games last season and played just a minute of the Champions League final and he wants more – not less – football next season.

Apparently, Asensio – who scored six La Liga goals last season – is a fan of both Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. After moves for Nabil Fekir and Manuel Lanzini collapsed, Asensio could be the new target. That would be lovely

I can't believe Klopp isn't looking to Group B favourites, Iran, and more particularly our star striker, Sardar Azmoun, who I believe would serve well as a fulcrum, like Bobby. His value is only going to skyrocket after we've knocked Spain and Portugal out in the group stages.

So Lemar on his way to Athletico

Surprised we maybe didn't go back in for him. No way Athletico have paid close to what we were quoted last year

Cillessen has said he wants to leave Barca if they can agree a deal but will stay if not

Leno agent has said Napoli interested but no deal yet, unsure if we will meet 25ml buy out.

Liverpool and Everton are leading the chase for Cork City central defender Sean McCloughlin this summer, we can exclusively reveal.

The 21-year-old only joined Cork last summer from UCC, but he has quickly established himself as the stand-out young player in the League of Ireland.

We can reveal that the two Merseyside giants are heading the chase for his signature, with Newcastle, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough and Preston also keen.

Preston have embraced the Irish market in the last 12-months and have been looking to steal a march on their rivals, but the interest in McCloughlin is major.

Cork are fully aware that the player could leave and have already moved to sign McCloughlin’s replacement in the shape of former Crystal Palace defender Damien Delaney.

Several Premier League clubs are on alert as up to half-a-dozen of Sporting Lisbon’s squad are looking to move to England this summer, we can exclusively reveal.

Sporting’s players have been rocked after they were attacked by a mob at their training ground, following a string of poor displays and this came after public criticism from president Bruno De Carvalho.

Star goalkeeper Rui Patricio has quit the club after claiming he endured psychological and physical violence, and he is only the first – with a host of team-mates set to follow suit.

Indeed, Patricio is the first who is heading to England with Wolves set to snap him up.

Argentine midfielder Rodrigo Battaglia is also on the radar of the Premier League new boys, although Fulham and Southampton are also keen to sign him.

Everton may also be huge beneficiaries from the chaos, with new boss Marco Silva wanting three Sporting stars in the shape of captain William Carvalho, striker Bas Dost and winger Carlos Mane.

Newcastle are also keen on Dost and Mane, whilst West Ham and Watford are also looking at Carvalho.

Another player who could be available is Scottish starlet Ryan Gauld – and we understand Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Rangers are all keen on bringing him back to the UK.

Arsenal and Liverpool, meanwhile, have also been given a major boost of landing another Sporting star in Gelson Martins after the Portugal star reportedly cancelled his contract in a bid to force through a transfer.

€65m for Lemar apparently.

Wow.

Not often you see Atletico buy a player and think "that's a terrible deal." But that one definitely is. He's good, but he's faaaar from great and for £55-60m you should be getting someone great.

I suppose this lines up the dominoes - Griezmann to Barca will be next. I'm very interested to see if Dembele moves on from them. I'd take him here even if it was on loan for a season or two. Of course, it'd obviously be better if it came with an option to buy him.
