But we weren't. We played three games, plus a Champions League game against Real Madrid, and conceded two goals with a more conservative style.

I meant mores over the whole of this season than when we went ultra shit and carved out results. We've not really been gung ho all season and it's partly down to us having some misguided notion that we need to follow City and Chelsea's lead and control games, yet the errors still remain. Even when we battened down the hatches we still had plenty of stupid mistakes.

 

It'd take a hell of a DM to stop the defensive rot and Rodgers would much rather a Song type of DM who likes a jaunt up the pitch more often than not.

I'm not having that it's about personnel, he's spent fucking bucket loads on defenders. Bar Lovren, who appears to be so shit that he manages to stand out in a Rodgers defensive set up, the rest are good footballers. Skrtel has been part of a defence than conceded about half of what we did last season in the league. Sakho is first choice for France. 

 

I agree we've been less gung ho, but I still think in the main we see more defensive errors because our defenders have more to do than most other defenders. A bigger area to defend because unless we play Lucas, our midfield does fuck all defensively. A bigger area to defend because the keeper is glued to his line. A bigger area to defend because the fullbacks are often 50 yards out of position. Also, because our keeper is shite, more mistakes lead to goals.

 

Swap Skrtel and Sakho for Terry and Cahill, which side do you think has a better defensive record?

I agree in many ways its just hard to pick through the clubs faults when much of what goes on is behind closed claws so al give him the benefit of the doubt until the end of the season if he does turn it round it will dispel any notion of the suarez effect clouding his mediocre record with last seasons 'success' (See the Geordie definition) made easier with having only one game a week advantage over our rivals who were shite anyway etc.

 

I will see how the cup runs go along with the league form from here and judge on it, now hes at the bottom will he float back up like a shiny tooth witch or will he sink to the bottom and have eels eating out his eyes and making a home inside his hed with a front entrance through the windows to his soul and make a bed of his rotting brains and a fireplace out of his toothes? If he turns out to float back up then surely you have to credit him.

I wouldnt be so sure, you point to me what other manager has 2 rows of 24 tactical white boards at the ready 24hrs a day on his own face, strap a mirror on his chin and he's ready to go through all passages of play at once to the players or any prospective transfer target querying 'whats it all abaht Brendrodger?'
