There is something wrong with our defence

I haven't blamed Mignolet for last night. It was a general observation. If i wanted to blame mignolet for last night's goal i would have specifically said so.

 

As for the players, they were signed in the previous decade when we kept clean sheets for fun. Pardon me for not seeing Martin Skrtel, signed in 2008, as the root of our inability to defend corners in season 2013/14 three managers later.

Chopping and changing formations and personnel. Dips in form. Injuries. Soft midfield. None of this has helped. I'd like to see him pick a settled back line and stick with it for a few games, injuries permitting. Things should improve.

haven't seen any of the game - why did Flanno get subbed? Good to see Kelly get on whatever the reason as I was starting to worry about him not recovering from his injury.

Sakho seems to be the one defender who is very comfortable in the air and not too bad on the ground either. Skrtel has improved his ground play a lot under Rodgers but still looks not great defending crosses. Agger is excellent on the ground but shows the same weakness as Skrtel when defending crosses.

Its Sakho plus Another for me and we did pay big money for Sakho so he should be the regular first choice. He also scores goals which is another plus in our team.

Skrtel plus Sakho for me. Hope they get a good run because chopping and changing is a recipe for disaster. Look how arsenal have benefited from a settled pair even though arguably their best CB is on the bench.

This is a good suggestion but Kolo has looked a bit out of sorts since Arsenal for me.

I wouldnt be disappointed to see Toure replace Glenn Johnson to be honest.

I like Sakho but these people saying we payed big money for him so he HAS to play are fuckin doing my head in. We should never had got rid of Carroll by that rule of thumb & Downing should have played every game last season & should still be here. Joe Allen should never be benched & Glen Johnson should be good.

I think Sakho should be playing purely for football reasons & not what he cost.
