Actually I'll go against the tide here and say that I don't believe that referee's are consciously biased, they are biased though.

 

I think it was Howard Webb (I stand to be corrected) who said that they are all to a man shit scared of Demento and the behemoth that is Manchester United. They just seem to instinctively favour the mancs particularly any close call always goes for them. When it's a decision against the mancs they often hesitate even on occasion when it's blatant.

 

What else should we expect when Ferguson is by and large allowed to run riot even to the point of undermining a referee's career a couple of seasons ago?
