I just downloaded this today. It seems to bring OSX more in line with iOS. Has anyone else downloaded it yet? What do you think? I'm using the new dictation feature right now as I post this.

So far, the reminders and notes I'm used to from my phone are handy on the Mac and Safari is running more quickly on Mountain Lion.

I tried to make a backup on my external hard drive but there isn't enough space. Im planning on buying a new one soon once this one fills up, but was wondering if a backup is necessary before upgrading to Mountain Lion?

I've installed it on two Macs since release, and had no problems arise. One was backed up.

 

Still, probably better to be safe than sorry...there'll always be a few lemons.

Installed without any problems over Lion. I like it... some good tips here including setting the new notifications bit to the top-right hot corner which is handy. Also, putting your own background behind notifications and launchpad.

Ok I think Im gonna do it. When it says backup, it just means my personal files right? The programs I can download again if something goes wrong with them. If so I've got plenty of space on my external for that stuff.

Got it on my brand new Macbook Pro.

 

Gradually Apple are making your iPhone/iPad/Mac into the same device as they all seem to be running more and more like each other and keeping everything synced so easily is really helpful.

I've been running it 6 months on my work laptop. I came from Snow Leopard, so I wasn't used to Lion at all. I like it, seems solid and quick. I have a load of audio stuff running now in 64 bit as well and it rarely crashes.

I've never known it to crash. Mighty fine, though I don't use the iOS like features.
