Daniel Sturridge - 2020

Recommended Posts

Sturridge continues to work with the club's rehab staff having limped out of last week's Audi Cup win over Bayern Munich due to discomfort in his thigh.

I'll be gutted if we do not shift this waste of our money from the wage bill in this transfer window. He's having us off again, yet another year of excuses and photos of him relaxing in this or that coffee bar. \

It angers me that he will take the place of a player in our squad that might actually make a difference to our season and not a bluffer that can't bring more than a few minutes together on the pitch without breaking down.

It's not my business to feel sorry for anyone, he's paid to do a job and if he can't do it get rid and let someone else do it.

It's sad that he's still the best striker at the club and we rely on him so much.

Klopp and the staff are totally to blame for putting faith again in this lad...it is a shame what he has become but we are a joke for not getting rid and leavin ourselves exposed....a 150k a week footballer who cant be trusted to play when needed is a luxury we cant afford

It is a very bad footballing decision to keep the lad around when sadly he is broken

Why do poeple think Klopp is putting his faith in Sturridge, or that he doesn't have "his number"?

I don't believe there's been a single bit of interest in Sturridge, why would there be?

We turned down a bid of £17.50 from the glue factory, rumours persist that we're looking for £20.

HEY!! Guess what??

its unlikely anyone is prepared to pay hard cash for Sturridge , He could be loaned out or taken on pay per play deal but why would he agree.

At some point this season he'll stay fit for upwards of three months and rediscover his scoring touch (stop laughing at the back) and we'll respond by renewing his contract for another four years. Three and a half of those years will be spent injured.

I'm still laughing

^^^^^surely all the club have to do is like they have done with Markovic and publicly state he isn't wanted.

Somebody somewhere would pick him up.

Whose going to pay him 150 grand a week for doing fuck all. That's the real reason he's still here.

Thankfully he's no longer relied on in the slighest.

Thing is though there were a number of times last season he would have been handy and i bet there will be this season and you can bet when it happens he won't be able to answer the call.

Loan him , sell him or just pay him off. Like with most things 'Liverpool' it's the hope that kills you.

Right now I'd rather we had Gerrard in our squad as an impact sub rather than Sturridge who can't stand near a clapping toddler for fear of the vibrations breaking something.

In every single game we play I'd rather see Solanke on the bench instead of Sturridge because he would be available for 98% of them while Sturridge only fit near the end of the season for contention in the England squad.

Jürgen Klopp has confirmed Daniel Sturridge will miss Saturday's Premier League opener at Watford, but is set to come back into contention for next week's trip to Hoffenheim...

The striker is currently recovering from a thigh injury sustained during the Audi Cup clash with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena last week.

However, Klopp has revealed Sturridge was ‘close’ to being involved in the squad for Vicarage Road tomorrow and will likely be ready to travel to Germany for the Champions League play-off first leg early next week.

The manager told his pre-Watford press conference at Melwood: “Daniel had a fantastic pre-season, but it was a little thing.

“He is close – he was already close for this weekend, but now for Tuesday it is pretty sure he is ready.”

Aaaaaaaand he isn't in the squad named today....
