I don't see him getting fired for the quotes...http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/david-moyes-even-sir-alex-3297223

David Moyes says even Sir Alex Ferguson would have had difficulty making Manchester United competitive this season.

United have endured a nightmare first season under Moyes, trailing leaders Chelsea by 18 points and guaranteed their lowest-ever Premier League points total.

They have suffered consecutive 3-0 home Premier League defeats to arch-rivals Liverpool and Manchester City, with supporters turning against Moyes. A section of angry United fans have hired a plane to fly over Old Trafford at today’s game against Aston Villa with a banner calling for his head.

But the under-fire Moyes said even Ferguson – who led United to an 11-point title win last season – would have found it hard to triumph this term.

“If Sir Alex was here this year it would be difficult for him as well, and he would be aware of that,” said Moyes.

“People are aware that there was a squad that was ageing, so it would be a tough season for whoever was in charge this season.

“There’s been a change from a great manager, not just a great one but one who was here for 26 years. To make that change was always going to be difficult.

“The supporters inside Old Trafford have been fantastic and very positive.

“I’ve heard about the plane, but I’ve sensed a strong level of support in the stadium. The majority of Manchester United fans are aware of the situation and obviously we want to play better, we want to get better results. The best people to judge are the people who appointed me.

“They are incredibly knowledgeable. In fact, the most knowledgeable is the one who gave me that job [Ferguson].”

Moyes denied Marouane Fellaini had deliberately spat at Pablo Zabaleta in the Manchester derby. “I’ve spoke with Marouane and he says it isn’t the case,” said the Scot.

Jose Mourinho last night urged the angry brigade to lay off Sir Alex. The Chelsea boss, who said he was not interested in taking over United last summer, urged Fergie to be left to enjoy his retirement.

Mourinho said: “He made United what it is. He decided to retire. Now United lose a match and it’s his responsibility? Let him retire in peace.”

They're despicable cunts from top to bottom aren't they.

Manager, ex manager, players, ex players, fans, every single fucking one of them are despicable twats.

That's an outrageous slur. When the lads get back from the FC United match they're gonna hook up with some of the Chinese tourists following their tour of Old Trafford with Paddy Crerand and call you names, then when you react they'll make out it is in fact you who is the troublemaker. Fred Done will take bets On who wins the scrap, whike Mick Hucknall, Terry Christian and Angus Deyton watch from the directors' box drinking Manchester United (football club) wine. Wine which is English...but not at all inferior.

There's a reason there's a devil on the crest.

Section, you are Mark Corrigan from Peep Show. Defo the sort of thing he'd own.

It was the greatest assortment of leaving gifts ever. They got me a German helmet, cigars, three porn mags and some wet wipes for my arse. Needless to say they'd built up a fairly good picture of me in those five years.

This thread is like the sopranos. Part of me wishes id never read any of it so I could read it all again from the start. I never want this to end. But the reality is, after Tuesday it could all be over. Well the Moyes show anyway. Hopefully this is just the start of the clubs decline and they will go through a number of hi profile managers who can't work under the conditions of gin soak bearing down on them coupled with the fans illusion of the divine right to win everything. They'll give managers money to spend and each will spunk it on players they want just for another manage to come in and sell them. And so the cycle goes.....

out of order this plane thing

incredibly 'small time' but, Moyes is a fucking idiot. These "Fergie would have struggled" quotes will have smashed any support / sympathy that he had.

I've really enjoyed this thread, and would love it to carry on for 6 years - but surely after the Bayern game, he's gone. I Just had a look on Skybet and they are 5/1 against Bayern for the home game. Have Man U ever been 5/1 at home before?

Man Utd fans are fucking horrible. Arrogant, self righteous, entitled cunts with a nasty streak built in them. Hate the club and more so the fans. I would love nothing better than for the club to be wiped from the face of the earth and flushed into the abyss like a runny shit stain.

Can't wait for Tuesday, I do actually own a genuine second world war German helmet which my old colleagues got me as a leaving gift so I'm gonna wear that and sink some Bratwurst and Erdinger Kristal.

So what are you going to do different to your regular Tuesday night?

Why didn't you just say the Liverpool of the 90's?

I don't know who the Utd fans think they are to be honest. They should be thankful that they have Moyes and not a manager who will jump ship at the first sign of trouble. I mean, do they really think they're going to get someone like Klopp, Mourinho or Guardiola to manage them? The club is a shambles. Chopping and changing managers now won't help them; it will only send them into freefall. Moyes showed at Everton that he can do a decent job - and even achieve Champion's League football - when given time and money. His record of signings is as good as anybody's, and he will surely build a team that more difficult to beat if he gets the backing of the board in the summer.

I had a quick look on Red Café yesterday after someone had recommended it, and one fella seemed to think they'd have Klopp in charge with Hummels, Chiellini, Reus, Gundogan, Kroos, and Costa all in their side next year.

I wouldn't underestimate how detached from reality they are.

They're Man United, they still think they'll do what they want.
