Nah. Nobody thinks that calling a garden"Oriental" is racist.

 

It's just that Stronts read somewhere that it's racist to refer to people as "Orientals" in North America and deduced from that that it's not racist anywhere else.

Racism exists. The worst part of latest racism is the hiding behind the "woke" line. How about we live a life where people are either pricks or not pricks. The scary thing about society is the stealth racism. The people 'generally' who all things woke are people who don't like anything that upsets their little picnic nest. "snowflake" for being upset at a racist comment but.... you fart in the direction of their picnic and they fume. Who is "woke", what is "woke" ? It's racism. What are "snowflakes"? They are those that can't handle the fact that being a scumbag is no longer the way it is. Move with the times ..... move with the times.

This is reminiscent of the problems highlighted by Caroline Criado-Perez in "Invisible Women". For decades all of our stuff has been designed to work for "normal" people and the researchers, designers and decision-makers have (understandably) interpreted "normal" to mean people like them and everyone around them; and in a racist, sexist society that means white men.
