Seen one comment by a grown man who said he was almost welling up with tears of joy at his beloved clubs transfer window, the best he's ever known. Oh and of course made all the sweeter because the red shite are worried.

They are getting ahead of themselves just a little bit, but you have to bear in mind that it's light years away from the time when Walter Smith filled their squad with Rangers hasbeens, or when the Moyesiah coached all the goalscoring ability out of fairly prolific strikers like Yakubu, Johnson and Saha while filling the squad with Man Utd rejects.

They've just confirmed Keane, so that's 5 decent signings by 3 July. No world beaters but they'll improve their squad immeasurably. If they hold on to Lukaku and sell Barkley they'll do well!

I presumed the cash they are spending would be based on the money they get from the sales of those players?

IF they hold on to their transfer funds (Lukaku) I'd be staggered. They really would have improved and spent a lot of cash, you'd expect them to be helping us even more by robbing points from the lower sides. No seriously they'd be a decent side and at this present time would give us a challenge.

Reality time, we should sign more players and improve ourselves. they won't hold on to Lukaku as he's their transfer funds.

Or maybe their board is spending the £120m TV cash windfall on improving the playing squad, a novel idea that has yet to catch on on this side of Stanley Park.

I agree, I don't think these transfers are dependent on Lukaku going. I think their money men would be happier if he did, but I don't think they'll force the issue!

They're signing some good, useful players. Doesn't really matter though. Even if no one wants to pay the fee for Lukaku, they don't have enough to finish better than 6th. The top teams in the league rebounded this year after an awful 15/16 and they keep spending money.
