The Real People's self titled album is an absolute masterpiece. Still play it loads to this day. Don't mind Oasis at all, but never quite got the worship, there's been a few bands before them (in my opinion) who have done that whole "heavy Beatles" thing better.  Some belter tunes though, although if i ever hear Wonderwall or Dont Look Back in Anger again i may decapitate someone. Up there with Bohemian Rhapsody in the played on the radio to the point of insanity stakes. I've got a lot of time for Noel, he's a top bloke but a self confessed magpie. Liam is a top notch whopper though.

Cast are muck as well. They are to The La's what Beady Eye are to Oasis.

Whilst we're talking about boss albums, got to mention Urban Hymns.

My favourite of all time tbh.

Brilliant album. One of my favourites too.

There are hints of where Ashcroft was about to go with his crap solo stuff (static rhythms, 4/4 beats, shit lyrics) but McCabe's playing makes up when there is a lulll. At their best with the rambling "psychedelic" or rocky tracks rather than the ballad type stuff.

Yeah it's not even the high profile stuff I love from that album, it's tunes like Space and Time, This Time, One Day, Weeping Willow, Velvet Morning etc which make that album for me.

I absolutely love A Northern Soul. I have happy memories of the summer Urban Hymns came out but I can't remember the last time I listened to it.

This is Music is a belter just for the intro.

Anyhow, that new track by The Stone Roses is turd.

Miles better for me mate. There's no right or wrong though it's purely down to taste.

Exactly mate. I'm a big fan of John Leckie's production which is why i think i like A Storm in Heaven more than Urban Hymns.

Radiohead's The Bends, The Stone Roses first album and 25 O'Clock by The Dukes of Stratosphear  are also big favourites of mine that Leckie produced.

Absolute dogshite that new Stone Roses song...The Stone Roses were best when they swaggered this song limps....no band ever makes its best music when its members are in their 50's, age and wealth blunts what makes bands great and especially when they haven't been a band together for over 20 years - stick to playing the classics for people to singalong to in stadiums and leave half baked shite like this on the cutting room floor where it belongs.

The Stone Roses are a heritage act and that is all that is down for them.

I disagree. Just look at Sol Invictus by Faith No More, the best comeback album for a long, long time.
