Just finished watching the second part of Che, after watching the first a couple of days ago. It's a wonderful film. Even without the depth of the subject the way that it looks and the soundtrack are fantastic; the scenery is just beautiful. Benicio Del Toro gives the sort of performance that shows just how invested he was in the film, given that he was involved as a producer.

The first part really gives you a feeling for the revolution and the second manages to drag you into the way the characters feel about the the way the revolution in Bolivia dragged it feet, spluttered and failed.

I really enjoyed it.

Transformers 2 - I was too young to see Transformers in it's prime (pun intended), so I don't have the same love towards the show that those of you who grew up watching it have. So, from a neutral perspective it had;

-Lots of footage of Megan Fox. ALWAYS a winner.

-Lots of boss special effects.

-Lots of explosions.

-Big robots.

The plot was a little bizarre, and the way the film unfolded was typical Michael Bay not having a clue, but I enjoyed it.

So, from that point, I give it a 9/10.

Valkyrie - See what happens when you try and mess with a bad motherfuhrer like Adolf Hitler. You end up getting killed by a firing squad. Very good film, well worth a watch.

9/10.

Why does Michael Bay get to keep making movies?

Land of the Lost... the movie version of the 70s kids show. A typical Will Ferrell affair. He is very hit and miss. He can be absolutely brilliant as in Anchorman the Legend of Ron Burgundy or he can miss entirely i.e. Tallageda Nights.

This is somewhere in between. There are some genuinely inspired bits but much which simply misses the mark. It is a film that you are willing to be good but which in the end is merely average. Anna Friel is poor in it also.

On the whole a missed opportunity.

Public Enemies - 7/10. All the way through I just felt like there was something missing. Can't put my finger on it though. Good performances, good story, good characters and good direction.

All the ingredients are there. I don't know what it was missing but it should have been far better.
